Clare - GTT is offered if you fit into certain criteria; BMI above 30, previous stillbirth, previous pre-eclampsia etc etc. Not routine by any means.
Can't remember if I said Congratulations to MrsJ so I'll say it againz.......Congratulations!!14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Hello new thread!! Thanks neneromanova.
I can't believe I'm at number 15 now but the terrifying thing is that if I'm induced/sectioned on July 22nd that'll put me at number 8 - not ready for that yet!
Payday today and I'm debating whether or not to go out and get a few things for the baby because I still don't know if the weekend meet up with my sisters and mum is actually a shower!!! I don't have any bottles or dummies bought, I'm planning on express feeding, it's worked with my girls so I don't see any reason why I shouldn't with this one so I have a couple of pumps in but nothing to actually put the milk into.
Odd q but has anyone tried the portable soother steriliser from Milton? I've spotted them around the shops and think they're a fab idea but not sure if they're actually any use! Both my girls loved their dummies (I was being used as a walking, talking dummy by both of them so the soothers saved my sanity and my nipples!)Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -
Ooh, I do like a nice new shiny thread lol!As its a nice shiny new thread now seems a good time to jump in and introduce myself! I'm 27 years old and 26 + 3 with my first child - a baby girl due September 29th :j All very exciting.
Did anyone else find their babies got more active around this time? I've been feeling her daily since 16 weeks but since Sunday she seems to have developed a pattern of kicking mummy to death all day and then snoozing the next day so Mummy pokes her in panic! :rotfl: Guessing shes suddenly got stronger and more energy but not quite enough to sustain it 24/7 so she needs her rest days to recover!
Yes, my bean does this too! She's been having a wee disco all to herself since 3am this morning, and showing no signs of stopping the party! This is after having two fairly quiet days where I did feel movement but nothing like this, so I'm fully expecting her to go back to chilling out tomorrow. Also (sorry if TMI) I've come to realise over the past week or so, if I get constipated then I feel baby less, as soon as that clears up, baby is back to partying in there!
Hope everyone is having a good day, I was shattered yesterday for no apparent reason, but felt fine today so have got heaps of housework done this morning. Now feeling tired again so think I'll chill out watching the tennis this afternoon!

Welcome kanichen!! My lo is very active most of the time, so does bother me when it goes quiet! Think its just normal for them to get their own little pattern going on.
I thought you only got offered GTT if there were other factors, I've never had one.
Glad your feeling a little better, with you on the crying, I never do normally but this pregnancy I've been awful, think Dh is wondering where his wife has gone and who is this blubbering wreak!! Oh might have to have a look at mothercare didn't realise they had an offer on!

Sam .. I felt the same after my physio appt too.. including the 'get someone else to do it' .. and don't pick up the baby.. There is 13 months between the 2 littlies so impossible to not pick Squeak up.. she wasn't even walking until Dot was 2 months old.. It is like they have a list of things to say without looking at your circumstances. It is my left leg that is really bad.. but my right leg had a go for a couple of days and I couldn't even limp properly I was so used to compensating for my left leg lolClare - GTT is offered if you fit into certain criteria; BMI above 30, previous stillbirth, previous pre-eclampsia etc etc. Not routine by any means.

Oh well, I must have always lived/had babies in areas that don't offer it as standard. That's good that it's more widely available elsewhere.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130

It has only become routine in the last 3 or 4 years it seems. It wasn't mentioned, and barely heard of when I had Tiddles (8) but was routinely offered when I had Squeak (nearly 3) and routinely done unless you declined when I had Dot (22 months) They make the appointment for it at your booking appointment for people here now... ring hospital and make appointment for booking scan and GTT then make appointments for quad test and anomaly scan after the booking scan.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
