Probably nobody wanted to be the one responsible for making the decision - one time I had a consultant referral where the MW freely admitted that it was unnecessary (and indeed the consultant discharged me straight back to MW led care at my first appointment with her) but she still referred me because then she wasn't responsible for deciding I didn't need it.

This could very well be true! However, because my pregnancy has been registered as "high risk", I can't deliver on the MLU which was really important to me. Plus they didn't tell me until I was 35wks. So I wish someone had corrected my BMI and discharged me :(

I'm on anti-labour work... Driving everywhere, no unnecessary movements and definitely nothing hot... As for sex... Well... Not until September 1st when my bathroom is finished!

However we are off on a spa break tomorrow so Sod's law it will arrive whilst we are away!

Gorgeous baby photo MV - she's perfect :) makes me all broody.

Oh no KScarlet, I take it no card was put through the door?
Mine arrived today, but I wasn't in (had no confirmation of when it was coming) and the courier left it with my neighbour and put a card through the door to tell me.
    I hope yours turns up!

Toothfairy - hell yeah I'm hot. I went to look at curtain fabric today and I could feel sweat beads on my forehead. Never wear a coat even in the rain and I can only tolerate a thin tshirt and knickers in bed!

MV -you must be smitten..she is just lovely :D

Been to see midwife today and I now have to have a GTT which I'm confused about as I'm 34 weeks and it's never been mentioned before but as I mentioned giving birth at birthing centre apparently I have to have this as they are strict and I should have had it at 28 weeks.

Rushed it through so I go at 9.30am tomorrow and if all's ok I go for a visit at the birthing centre on 4th September to discuss birthing plan.

    Here's my plan:

    Turn up when in labour.
Have whatever painkillers I ask for, when I ask for them
Let the experts do their thing
    Go home...

I can't actually believe I'll have a real baby at the end of this. It's overwhelming..I can feel him and see him move but yet it's so not real in my mind! I hope I like him...is that bad of me to think?!:o

I bought a PL bag and the courier left it in my bin. They didn't leave a card either, stupid as I could have dumped loads of rubbish in without looking!!

Hopefully they left it with a neighbour and they'll knock on your door later and hand it over :)

Desperation move here - if anyone in Nottingham wants one of the ring cushions to sit on after they've had the baby if they've got an ahem... sore undercarriage - chuck me a PM cos I've got one sitting on the top of my desk cupboard and I want shot of it (can't get our pushchair in the local post office to post it unfortunately)!

    MV - she's gorgeous!

Toothfairy - Yes, I'm always warm/hot. Constantly have the windows open at home and the a/c on in the car. I also cannot wear maternity jeans at the mo as they feel so hot and uncomfortable, so spend my life in dresses and maternity shorts.

Kscarlet - Pink Lining are pretty good at chasing up missing parcels. Hopefully it's just with a neighbour or over your back gate!

I'm procrastinating. I should be studying but I'm too uncomfortable in what ever position I sit in. I'm sure this baby is laying funny.

Very best of luck for the scan today BZ..will be thinking of you xx
Thanks :) all was fine, bubs is perfect apparently :D consultant was nice and such about my conditions and birth options, so that made me feel better. Felt like they were taking my conditions seriously, without restricting my choices, which made me happy ;)

My pram system arrived when we were out! This might actually be getting real!

It is SO hard to imgaine your first baby, now I am on my 2nd all I can see is my first although we know they most likey will look nothing like each other!

Tbh... my OH wanted kids, and I kind of wanted them but same time I wasn't 100% sure if I was ready..so all up in my pregnancy I had days of 'is this what I want & days of 'I'm so lucky gonna be a mum' kind of thing.

It wasn't untill the 3rd day of having him that I couldn't sleep and he was fast asleep next to me that I was just so overwhelmed with love for my baby that it really hit me. I couldn't be without him now.
