Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..

Oop another post but just wanted to ask a quick question. I asked this before but I was on the 12-24 weeks thread when I did so it didn't feel as relevant as I was fit and well then!

Bit random but how far have you/are you planning to work before maternity leave? I'll be 38 weeks by the time I give up. Pregnant colleagues/friends seem to have given up about 5 weeks before their due dates and as I am struggling a little I've really been thinking if this is the right step for me but I have this little battle with myself daily where I just think 'push on weakling!'
You aren't a weakling if you need to stop sooner than you intended to. I forget when I started maternity leave last time but I was signed off sick from 6 weeks to whenever it started. I'm less ill this time so will probably start ML at 29 weeks because that's the earliest you can start it. (I am self employed working at home though which means I won't be having to leave the baby at the end of ML - if I wasn't I might be more inclined to try and go longer.)

Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A
  • I'm more than capable of not opening the door to them
I had that plan last time but unfortunately the front door was wide open because DD1 was playing in the front garden (and it was the middle of summer). Next time I plan to be out.

    Congrats MV, she's beautiful :)
  • I'm bored out of my brains, my scan this morning was pointless. Apparently I wasn't fat enough to be there (for a growth scan) for my bmi and I'm otherwise "perfect" (I wish my partner would realise that ;) ) apparently the scan is generally used in very over weight women who have too much body fat to tell which way around the baby is, you can see bumps bottom moving around and legs kicking so there's no doubt here!

So I wasted £4 in parking and 3hrs waiting around just to be told to wait for the baby and take anticoagulants for 6wks following the birth.
Did the person who ordered the scan for you not say why you were having it? I've had them in two pregnancies and both times I knew why and neither were for high BMI.
  • congratulations MV, Lola is so cute!

oh dear I am so unorganised with birthdays!
  • Congratulations MV! She is gorgeous. Glad your OH managed to make it in time for the birth even if the whole thing was rather eventful. (Not that birth can ever really be uneventful.)

Congratulations MV. Baby Lola is absolutely lovely. I know i said it the other day about remembering you getting your BFP last December, but knowing you now have your baby at home makes it feel like I might eventually get there myself.

Good luck to anyone else giving birth soon - especially you Courgette. I remember your very sneaky BFP announcement too.
