Angelmommy my FIL kept telling me when I was pregnant that I was having a boy- he was adamant. He kept saying how all the proper T family had boys first and then went on to have girls.

I told him what an idiotic thing to say, it's down to luck. He kept telling me I was having a boy, it made me angry because he basically said if we didn't have a boy not to bother as he wasn't that interested!!! !!!!!!!

Anyway I had a gut feeling it was going to be a girl and lo and behold my DD was born!!!

I fell pregnant again and DH said if it was a boy he was going to have the snip as he was happy with one of each. I don't know why, but as the 2nd wasn't planned it felt really final to say no more children and plus I've always wanted three. I'm one of three and so is he. We went for the scan and the sonographer said it was going to be another girl!!! :rotfl:

DH is now in the dilemma of trying for a third, but he might have to face the possibility that the third one is another girl!!! :rotfl:
I'd be happy either way, but when she said it's another girl I was :D as it meant the possibility of having a third, we might not, but I don't want the decision taken away from me!
    Got married 13/11/10 :)
    DD1 born 25/03/12 :D

  • Hi all, congrats Baleb, and hello to all the new posters!

Re mat leave, I took leave as soon as I could, for a variety of different reasons - main one being I wasn't going back so having more time after baby wasn't a consideration really. If I was going back, my intention was to work until 37 weeks, but as I'm now 35 weeks, I know I wouldn't have managed that long as the job I had was quite physical and on my feet all day. If I'd been in an office type job, I'd have prob been ok until 37 weeks. I think it very much depends on each person, and the kind of work that you do, commuting time etc. don't let anyone bully you into staying longer or make you feel bad for taking leave early!

AFM, its exactly 1 month until my due date! Getting excited now, but also realising exactly how much stuff we still need to do around the house! DH was off at the weekend, so I thought we'd get lots done - but apparently the car needed polishing and the garden needed tidying up before baby arrives too, so that took priority! Don't think DH realises I can't move furniture around on my own these days! Anyway, his days off this week are tomorrow and Thu, so things WILL get done then!

Following on from last weeks discussion of how (some) men are unable to cook, does anyone else find they are also unable to do housework at times too?! I've lost count of the amount of times in the past week DH has come and said to me X, Y or Z needs cleaned - if you notice it needs cleaned, go and blo**y well clean it! The latest thing was the coaster on his side of the bed, and it only needed cleaned coz he spilt coffee on it at the weekend. Grr...sorry, it looks like I'm ranting about DH, he is helpful most of he time and I do love him really!

I know it was a few pages back but my local ik3a does tea towels for 20p each, so I've stocked up on a load for muslins for the baby :D

So many pages to catch up on! I will try but I don't think DD is napping so I haven't got much time. Congratulations to all the new births - hope mums and babies are doing well.

31 weeks for me today. Definitely slowing down now. I have my double buggy and car seat and a cot. Just need to put the cot together and make some space in DDs room for the babies clothes and sort out the babies clothes - and then I think I'm pretty much done. Oh and need to sort out my hospital bag too.

Oh, and regarding leaving work, I'm a SAHM now so no worries about work but with DD I finished at exactly 36 weeks. But I had also dropped down to 2 days a week by then and parked my bum behind a desk so it wasn't too taxing. Definitely more taxing running around after a toddler 24/7!

I think my nesting instinct has well and truly kicked in. Spent 3 hours cleaning the kitchen including cleaning the oven, scrubbing the microwave and foreman and scrubbing the floor

    Sore and tired now.

Washed the nappy bag and rucksack so will get my hospital stuff organised tomorrow.

    36 weeks.

Got my letter through from MA :D I'm now allowed £136.78 as opposed to £27 :D

Already bought the paint and pretty things for the rooms to be decorated. I've managed to paint Our room fully and glossed it, the girls room has been half painted (ran out of paint :( ) and little mans room has half a wall done (his room is the dumping ground so far so not easily accessible) But it's all going nicely :) DH said no to new carpets until my waters have broken :rotfl: so have to wait a few more weeks for that to be sorted. He also did his "manly" job on Sunday of putting the curtain rails up for me.

My nesting instinct has been coming and going. :rotfl: One minute I want to clean and get it all pretty, then I start more decorating and make more mess so it's a never ending cycle :rotfl:

    31+1
