They look like they were bought that way in the picture - the finish is fab. I don't mind paying if it's worth it and lets face it I'm saving on buying new drawers anyway!
Tomorrow I think I'll start painting mine as I am so desperate to have somewhere to put baby's clothes - other than a laundry bag.
I meant to reply yesterday about the hospital bag so am going to do so now even though the convo is over! In mine:
Baby -
4 newborn sleepsuits
4 newborn vests
2 hats
Blanket
2 Cardigans
Huggies pure wipes
Pack of size 1 pampers
(I've taken 4 of each in case I stay in - probably no point but it doesn't hurt to have to bring them home again)
Me -
Mini shampoo, conditioner and shower gel
Deodorant
Face wipes
Toothbrush
Make up bag
2 nighties (waste of money really but now I've bought them I'm taking them even though I've decided to give birth in one of my partner's old t-shirts that I wear for bed!)
Old t- shirt
Leggings
Slippers
Socks
Leaving hospital outfit
Hand held fan
Nipple balm
Maternity pads
Lush massage bar
Also going to pack a small cool bag with some snacks for me and the OH.
Magazines
Kindle
Phone
Charger
That's it I think - seems a bit overboard now!0 -
Evening all!
Baby Eil!s M!ire arrived yesterday at 2.11pm and is absolutely perfect. Shame I can't say as much for the care I got in the induction ward!
Was given prostin twice on Friday and when examined on Saturday morning I was told I definitely don'tneed another and would be going down to the labour ward to get Mmy waters broken as soon as possible. This was about 6am. By 8am I was having mild contractions but manageable. 9am I was in absolute agony. Midwife told me it was induction pains and not labouring and I was still waiting for a space in the labour ward. About 11 I was offered diamorphine but only if I could go on the trace for 10 mins to check baby's heartbeat - forced myself onto the bed while they did there wasn't enough peaks showing after 10 mins so I had to stay on and then I got the call to go down - thank !!!! says I.
Got downstairs and turns out I HAD been labouring and was infact 9cm dilated so if they gave me diamorphine it would cross the placenta and the baby might need resuscitation on delivery so I was never gonna agree to that and the anastesiest was on theatre so an epidural was out too. Gas and air it was
Waters still hadn't broken by the time I was fully dilated and when the midwife broke them there was some meconium in it so they thought the baby was distressed and put me in stirrups to use forceps but baby had other ideas and decided that was her moment to come naturally! So baby was fine, all good but my womb wasn't contracting properly so I got whisked away to theatre to stop the bleeding. Ended up with a transfusion of about 6 and a half pints of blood and then another pint today as well.
Now out of the high dependency ward and into normal post natal dying just to take my baby home to be a proper family - breaks my heart when OH has to leave at night. My Debt Free Diary

Blimey claree, so sorry you had such a tough time. Glad baby and you are safe and sound though, and hopefully you'll be home soon.
Massive congrats too! xMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -

I have 2 matching long stretchmarks under my bump, I hope they fade quick!0 -
Congratulations Claree - my goodness it sounds like you had a rough time in hospital. I wonder sometimes if these midwives know what they're doing - I gave birth to my first on a bedpan as midwife said I couldn't possibly need to push as it would be another 6hrs at least - 10mins later baby was in my arms! Glad you and your precious bundle are ok. Looking forward to pics xxDD1 June 1997

Congratulations Claree and Gizmodo! :j
How many weeks are most of you before you start decorating nursery? Part of me wants to start now (25 weeks) while I am still able to manoeuvre lol but then I'm worried its too soon and I should wait until 30 weeks? I'm not painting room just sorting furniture/ wall decals, need to sew black out lining into curtains, hang bunting and decide what else to do! I think there's a canopy for the cot aswell as mobile to go over changing unit
I'm nearly 31 weeks and we're doing the painting now(2 spare rooms need doing!) but I wish we'd done it earlier as I'm so hot and tired and uncomfortable!
Glad I'm not the only one struggling with the pet name issue! I also like a name that's really similar to/ a longer version of my cat's name and I'm having a hard time convincing OH it's ok!!0 -
Well done and congrats claree... sounds like a tough old time. Hope you get out soon hun. Pleased to see an update and hoping your feeling ok after that ordeal! :eek:0
