sometimes feel im not being taken seriously at all by the midwives at my hospital, four days ago i went in for cramping and back pain and told that my cervix had softened and i could expect him any time soon, four days later my bump has dropped, i had the show yesterday and still suffering bad. Now i don't know if these cramps are early contractions or not as im a first time mum but i called again 2 hours ago to say they are intensifying and after 4 sleepless nights im starting to lose the will to live.
was told someone would call me straight back and 2 hours later i had no response so called them again to be told they wouldn't see me till i had taken paracetemol for 2 hours, which im sure someone could have told me when i originally called. So after hysterically crying to them on the phone and getting myself stressed out im now being comforted by my mum as no one will listen, this isn't the first incident ao really stressing that ill never be listened to by ant of them

When I was in labour with DS we rang hospital after 24 hours of contractions. They were four minutes apart but lasted about a minute. Too painful to sleep or read or watch tv. They said to me and DH that if I could talk it was too soon to come in. After the second time they said this, pain was getting worse. We just went to the hospital. Had to kneel on front seat of the car. Got there and they weren't happy we'd just turned up, and MW said I didn't look like a wonan in labour. But she examined me and I was 5cm. Was 36 hours since contractions had started. So if it is getting you that upset just tell them you need someone to examine you and that you are on your way.

Hun I'm so sorry...hope someone has listened by now. The times I hear stories like this is insane :(

Please keep us updated as to how you are. Feeling a bit despondent with midwives myself after having a few problems that they are nonplussed about. Just turn up if it gets worse..sod em!

MV - nursery looking lovely!!! :T Are those the drawers you were painting?? They look fab!! What did you paint them in if you don't mind me asking? I'm about to do the same with some crappy old pine drawers we have :D

Funny old day for me today. Feeling a bit low so OH took me out for dinner but I'm so mopey I just don't know why! :)

Aww Bangton, hope you had a nice dinner. Don't underestimate those pesky hormones too..I've been up and down like a rolleroaster this pregnancy.

Yes those are the drawers. They were originally covered in a yucky bright yellow gloss paint. I bought them off eBay years ago, and had been intending to strip them for ages but never got round to it.

OH took the heat gun to them! I painted them in 'White Tie' by Farrow and Ball. It's pricey stuff but I love the finish you get and the colours are so pretty.

MV I've ordered the same stickers for my DD1's room, the nursery is staying Winnie the Pooh- only did it last year, but we're moving her into the bigger room for when DD2 comes along. They look amazing and I'm glad you put the photo up as I showed DH and he thought they were really cool :)
    Got married 13/11/10 :)
    DD1 born 25/03/12 :D
    DD2 born 28/11/13 :D
  • Glad he likes them Lola :)

I like the fact they are quite funky and retro looking and not overly 'girly'

I had such fun putting them up too!

fluffysox, i am going to call aswell. It said allow up to 10 days for delivery during the sale, tomorrow will be ten. People on their facebook seem to be saying they heard nothing then just got a text one morning saying it was being delivered that day. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

    MV - looks lovely.

    I've ordered furniture today. Cot,drawers & wardrobe from M&S.

Went to look at it in a store & it looks nice. Takes about 4 weeks to come. Have emptied the room today for the decorator coming this week so it's all coming together.

Parents have offered to pay for all the furniture which is a lovely bonus.
  • lovely pretty nursery MV, I wish I was that good at practical stuff!

big hugs Jessica, hope you have a much nicer time for the rest of your labour.

I'm still not in too much of a rush with nursery as baby will be in our room for the first few months - well as long as that works out. 33+2
