  • The same thing happened to me but at 35 weeks. I know I'll regret it if everything works out well this time but I'm not buying, building or decorating anything except the absolute basics until this one actually comes out breathing.

purplepetal I cannot imagine how that must have felt :( I will say that you don't need a cot straight away anyway. I had a moses basket and my pram came with a bassinet thing which could be used as a moses basket as it had a proper mattress. I know loads of people like to have everything ready though.

I didn't build our cot bed until my LO was about 3 mths old. One of the best things we did as we found out she could self settle. DH had built the bed on his own, but was having problems making the underbed storage drawers. I put her down awake in the cot, turned to help DH in what I thought would only be a 5 minute jobby which turned into almost 30 mins if not more. We were banging and making loads of noise, I turned around after we finally managed to make the two drawers and she was sound asleep about 2 metres away from us?!?!

I covered her over with a blanket and she stayed there all night!!! One very happy mummy :)

Just want to say she'd been more or less sleeping through, but I had been feeding her to sleep or rocking her in the rocking crib as I thought that was what she needed, but obviously not!

  • Congrats Gizmodo :)

Mega amounts of lower back pain :( and pain in my pelvis now feels like baby bean engaging. This is my fourth my DD last time didnt engage until the last minute. However bean thinks it maybe a lightbulb as it feels like its screwing itself into my pelvis.
Starting to get the nesting bug - hospital bag packed. Maybe its just wishful thinking :D

Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait
  • I have a cot from DD2 but wont be making it until I need to due to lack of space. I will get a moses basket at some point but I wont have it in my room until there is a baby in it. When DD2 was a baby she was very ill and at 12 weeks old she was in intensive care and coming home for there and seeing an empty moses basket all night really upset me. I find an empty crib or moses basket a bit creepy!
Just take each day as it comes. :)
    Bump due 18th January :j
  • sometimes feel im not being taken seriously at all by the midwives at my hospital, four days ago i went in for cramping and back pain and told that my cervix had softened and i could expect him any time soon, four days later my bump has dropped, i had the show yesterday and still suffering bad. Now i don't know if these cramps are early contractions or not as im a first time mum but i called again 2 hours ago to say they are intensifying and after 4 sleepless nights im starting to lose the will to live.
was told someone would call me straight back and 2 hours later i had no response so called them again to be told they wouldn't see me till i had taken paracetemol for 2 hours, which im sure someone could have told me when i originally called. So after hysterically crying to them on the phone and getting myself stressed out im now being comforted by my mum as no one will listen, this isn't the first incident ao really stressing that ill never be listened to by ant of them

Massive hugs hun, sounds like they don't care. I was told to take paracetamol which doesn't even touch the sides!! It sounds like you might be in early labour which can takes hours if not days. It might be an idea to phone back and stamp your feet to be seen at the hospital, even if they just check you out and send you home it'll make you feel better.

I was in tons of pain so I phoned and they told my DH if I could talk I wasn't that bad!! I went in they checked me over and sent me home. I lasted another 24 hrs and then went back in even though my contractions hadn't lengthened or become more frequent and I could see the mw wasn't impressed until she checked and I was 6cm dilated. Even when I was pushing my contractions never got much longer or closer together.

Hope you get someone to listen xx

Ah, Courgette, you just never know really. I had no clue. I was at Ikea the day before and spent the afternoon re-doing our store cupboard with my new storage goodies from Ikea! I kept joking all day saying baby can come now cos I had nothing else left to do and no plans for this week! And sure enough he did.

Aww jessica sounds like your having a bad time, will be worth it when you have your little bubba, even if it doesn't seem like it now.

Love the nursery MV! Very cute :)

Excited for some news from Claree and baleb, hope their babies have made an appearance by now.
