I chose Henry and Hugo for my cats names so they are both out! I really like Henry for a boys name tho.

I would have used the time between 24 weeks and 30 weeks to do more preparation if I'd known how tired I would be now in this heat. I'm hoping that it will cool down soon because I feel much better on cooler days. 33+1

I quite like the name Ruby, but we rescued a dog years ago who we had to put down just before Christmas 2011 called Ruby and DH says no as people will think we named the baby after the dog!

I decorated the nursery for DD1 when she was born, but just in case we had a boy we did it all in neutral colours. It is Winnie the Pooh themed, but as DD2 is onroute I think we will be moving DD1 into the big spare room so I'm going to do a owl/forest animals theme.

Our only small dilemma is when to move her out of her cot bed, I was hoping to keep her in it as a toddler bed, but well that didn't work out the way I planned. She has about 6 mths left in the cot bed before DD2 will need it, if DD1 was anything to go by, she hated the moses basket, we have a rocking crib, but again she wasn't that fussed. The first time I put DD1 in the cot bed she self settled and continued the 12 hr sleeps- I think there is sleepy dust in that bed :)

  • Any news this morning claree?

I packed my hospital bag so long ago I have totally forgotten what's in there! Think I need to do a re-check this weekend.

So in the time OH has been up and managed to have a cup of tea and get himself showered (and sit on the loo posting on FB), I have breakfasted DS, got him dressed, done 2 puzzles with him, made the bed, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and put a load of clothes on to wash.

I have this insane need to get stuff done, mindful that I am due next week. Juse need to put a rocket up OH's ar5e...

Prostin worked, waiting on a space in the labour ward to go have my waters broken. Contracting this morning and "doing well" apparently but not exactly feeling like it! OH is dying to come up but as long as I'm in this ward he has to wait until 10.30.

    Hope baleb is okay!

I only packed my hospital bag on my due date so try not to worry! The hospital will have things too if you forget anything and you can always ask someone to bring stuff in if there is something you've forgotten. Saying that, my hospital bag is an emergency just in case bag as I WILL be having this little boy in the living room! That's my attempt at positive thinking if you didn't quite spot it :rotfl:

AFM. Nothing to report. Bump still very high and no signs at all that there'll be a baby any time soon

A delivery lorry has crashed into a wall opposite us at 7.00am this morning. We had the window open & OH didn't stir - doesn't bode well for him waking for a baby! He really can sleep through anything.

Felt rubbish yesterday. Really hot & felt like the baby was an octopus I was kicked & punched so many times. Shouldn't really complain about knowing he/ she is active though. It was as if I had been doing stomach crunches all day & night (not that I ever would!).

Gutted as I was meant to be going out with colleagues last night. Instead I got home at 5.00pm, laid on the bed & didn't get up again.

Seem to be back to normal today, just general aches! Good job as I have a 8 & 10 yo to look after from lunchtime & they are staying over.

Hoping for some baby news today Claree - good luck!

Not long now Claree! Hopefully you'll have your little one by the end of the day.

Can anyone recommend a TENS machine? I'm a bit overwhelmed at the selection!

I'm easily confused so coming on here late to ask for some help.

What have you packed for the hospital?

I've looked online but so many sites vary of what they tell you to pack.

I'm 35 weeks on Monday and wanted to make a start on getting some bits and pieces tomorrow but don't want to be fooled into buying things I actually don't need.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've been using this list which is on the due date list. Left out quite a few bits and pieces which I dont think i will need but i think it pretty much covers all bases!

    Morning all,

Eagerly awaiting news from Clare :) and no news from Baleb yet either. Labour vibes to the over/nearly due ladies.

In terms of hospital bag I just pack as if I was going away for a few days but with a few extras,

    For me

    Pjs/nighties
Underwear/socks (vaguely remember feet being cold during labour??)
    Dressing gown and slippers
    Toiletries/maternity/breast pads
    Book/magazine/snacks/drinks
    Camera/phone/phone charger
    Money

    For baby

    Vests/sleepsuits
    Scratch mits
Hat and cardigan for coming home
    Bibs
    Nappies
    Wipes

I've packed way to many sleepsuits so some of these will be taken out and put in a carrier bag then OH can bring them in when I start to run out and take the dirty ones home.

Other than that I don't think there's much else that you would urgently need, People I find will bring you snacks/drinks/magazines etc HTH

Brian is my sons middle name :) my kids first names are in no way related to any family members they are just random names that we like

Feeling not to bad today heartburn was horrible yesterday :( I had sausage on toast don't think it agreed with me so ill give it a miss today, we have friends coming round tonight for drinks so OH can show off his new TV and decorating.

Right breakfast time hope everyone has a good day xx
