  • Bangton - I have seen some lovely bunting that would go in a boys room, in fact I had bright coloured bunting in my DS's room until recently and the only reason I took it down was because he kept pulling it down! you don't have to go down the 'blue' route, I'm not a big fan of all this blue for boys and pink for girls either!

These are the sort of colours I am thinking of for baby girl's bunting as the room is slighly 'shabby chic' with the white painted furniture and Farow and Ball creamy walls:

Sorry, don't mean to keep lurking and not posting :rotfl: I tend to read through then forget everything and then get distracted so end up not posting!

Got my maternity pay details through this morning, times won't be quite as austere as we feared thankfully. DH and I have also decided to start a small business on eBay so today we took delivery of a load of stock - exciting times! I've checked it over, made a note of sizes and written up a pretty spread sheet to make me look like I know what I'm doing but actually DH is the eBay expert so I'll be following his lead in terms of listing it all etc.

Baby due tomorrow - eek! And as much as a surprise as it is to say this I'm sort of starting to feel like it's not gonna be too much longer. He's very low in my pelvis again and I've been having quite a few BHs which I haven't been having at all over the last few weeks. I also, ahem, have been using the loo quite a few times including the middle of the night. DS1 has blown up my birth pool this morning and I've had a little sit in it (dry).

No nursery pics to share here I'm afraid. He'll be in with us for a few months anyway then sharing with DS2 and his room looks as though it's been trashed by a toddler (no idea why!) and is definitely not publishable

Bought the last few bits I'll need for birth yesterday. All boring stuff like breast pads and san towels. I haven't bought him anything new, poor lad, but I have knitted him a few items so he does have some stuff that's his

I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed with everything right now. My cousin upset me a bit the other day (although perhaps I was being over-sensitive). She said it seems like I'm not excited - her reasoning is that we didn't find out the gender, we haven't had a 4D scan and the cot hasn't been put up yet. We didn't find out because we want it to be a surprise. We didn't have a 4D scan done because we'd also quite like the baby's appearance to be a surprise! The cot... that's because we've been having the rest of the house decorated (carpets put in the living room, glass doors replaced with toughened glass doors, etc) and the baby won't be in the nursery at first anyway!

I'm in exactly the same position as you and its silly to think that it means we're not excited! I'm sooooo excited but didn't have a 4d scan cos of cost, and haven't got a cot yet cos we're still decorating! The outwards stuff means nothing, we're still squealing with excitement on the inside!

Courgette - ebay business sounds like a good idea! It's £0 listing tomorrow I think.

Had 28 week mw appointment today (28+4), everything fine and measuring 28cm, but no doubt everyone at work will still say I'm massive lol. Found out someone else at work is 15 weeks pregnant - explains the third degree I had from her last month, but has amused me as she thought I was huge - don't think she knows what she's let herself in for :p

More painting tonight, feels like the jobs to get the house (well upstairs) ready is never ending, we want to get all the messy stuff done before the new carpets get put in at the end of the month so not long to do it all.

I love watching obem, weirdly it's made me feel better about giving birth, probably because I always cry when the parents hold their baby for the first time and seeing how women cope differently with the pain makes it really sink in that no matter how I cope (or don't cope!) with the pain it's fine as everyone is different.

I've not bought much in the way of newborn stuff. Hospital bag has 0-3 in it.

I'm quite lucky with my DH - he's great with the cooking. Last night I was under strict orders not to go into the kitchen as he was cooking for me. He does a mean paella!

Well I'm 32 weeks this week and baby will be arriving in about 6 weeks (section) and I haven't even thought about putting the cot up yet. Have cleaned it and that's about it!!

And how rude to assume because you don't want to see baby/know gender before birth you're not excited. I did both those things with DS2 and have chosen not to with this one because I preferred everything being a surprise, not because I don't care!!
