Woohoo good to see us all moving up the list - I'm also in the "10 weeks to go!" club this week!A few people have said there won't be anything for them to buy, but haven't directly asked me what they can buy. I don't want to assume people will ask & also many things I want to get sorted so am not going to wait. I don't think there is much else which I consider is 'needed' so if people do ask in a couple of months, there won't be! Don't wish to sound ungrateful - it's lovely that people will want to buy things.
Same here - people keep saying "oh there'll be nothing left for us to buy" but then not actually asking me if there is anything we need, which there is!! I have made a little list of reasonable priced items that people can buy us as gifts if they want to.
Obviously I'm happy with people getting us whatever they like, if anything at all, I'm not bothered about presents or just after free stuff! But come on, don't moan that there isn't "anything" left without then asking me if there is actually "anything" cos there is! Grrr!
I've been having the funny bladder sensations too. Sometimes I literally feel like I'm going to wet myself. The funny thing is I can be sat down and not feel the need to go at all but then I'll stand up and it's a huge urgency to get to the toilet!
Same here. I sit at my desk or the dining table fine and as soon as I stand up everything feels very heavy and low and I have to go to the loo for a pee immediately!! Strange! Been told bub's head is down low so perhaps it is just gravity pushing it onto my bladder!

Jess I'm reliably informed that if you're in labour then you'll know! :rotfl: Braxton Hicks is a bloody annoyance though to say the least.
Went for my scan this morning, was pretty crappy 'cause she's so big there wasn't much they could show me (boo), they keep going on about her being above the 95th centile but the estimated weight was showing about 8lb 6, which doesn't seem that huge to me!
Protein and sugar levels were high again this morning and BP back up to something over 97 then 101  Thankfully the consultant agreed it was probably just because I was due a blood pressure tablet and I've to continue with the plan to go in on Friday for induction - I thought they were going to whip me in today and keep me there! My Debt Free Diary

Claree I have never yet had a moses basket that hasn't been in need of a dose of viagra in the hood department - the hoods NEVER stay up like in the store (and they'd get in the way if they did to be honest)! Somehow I managed to eek out her up to almost 5 months in it - considering the size of her that's impressive going... cracked and put a travel cot in the lounge for daytime naps now (she takes some settling to sleep so I can't have her in her overnight cot as I need to be downstairs supervising her sister).
Late scans are sooo not interesting as you can't see anything from it being squished in there... I dread to think what weight my pair would have been if they'd gone to term - they're solid 98th centile weight and height now - had the health visitor insisting I must have gotten my youngest's age wrong the other week... no love, I think I kind of remember what I was doing that day! Just have a couple of 0-3 month things on standby in case they don't fit into newborn I guess!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Afternoon preggy ladies
Exciting seeing us ascending up the list. I can't believe I am due next week, although I should be able to seeing as I feel like I have been up-duffed forever!
Baleb I will be keeping everything crossed that your sweep today kicks things off. It's no fun going overdue I know.
Bangton - I certainly will post up some pics. Just waiting for OH to finish doing the boring stuff in there (painting/glossing woodwork etc) and then I can get in and do the nice stuff - wall stickers, furniture arrangement, bunting etc
claree - our new moses basket also has a rubbish hood bit that won't stay up. You'll never use it anyway, it's just annoying when you buy something new that is faulty
Enjoying some blissful solitude today as DS is with the childminder. Slept for a couple of hours this morning and have just been out to buy some more paint and bits from Tesco. Ladies who haven't had babies before - my advice is BANK AS MUCH SLEEP/REST AS YOU CAN NOW!!!!!!
Being bored on Maternity Leave is a good thing, believe me you'll be begging for boredom in the coming months!
Courgette if you are lurking, let us know how you are doing. xxMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
I'm not actually that bothered about the hood if I'm honest, I just thought I'd complain and see how it goes. The basket looks perfectly nice without itMy Debt Free Diary

I've not bought much in the way of newborn stuff. Hospital bag has 0-3 in it.
I'm quite lucky with my DH - he's great with the cooking. Last night I was under strict orders not to go into the kitchen as he was cooking for me. He does a mean paella!
I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed with everything right now. My cousin upset me a bit the other day (although perhaps I was being over-sensitive). She said it seems like I'm not excited - her reasoning is that we didn't find out the gender, we haven't had a 4D scan and the cot hasn't been put up yet. We didn't find out because we want it to be a surprise. We didn't have a 4D scan done because we'd also quite like the baby's appearance to be a surprise! The cot... that's because we've been having the rest of the house decorated (carpets put in the living room, glass doors replaced with toughened glass doors, etc) and the baby won't be in the nursery at first anyway!
30+6Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
neneromanova, please can you change my date to 27th Sept, as although my due date is not til 4th Oct based on 40 weeks gestation I've had confirmation from my obstetrician that they will do a section on 27th Sept if nothing goes wrong before then, or if bubs doesn't decide to come early.
It's quite nice knowing the date in advance, well at least knowing that it won't be any later than that date. I feel for those who've gone over their due dates - baleb lets hope your little one is going to make an appearance very soon!0 -
I'm not actually that bothered about the hood if I'm honest, I just thought I'd complain and see how it goes. The basket looks perfectly nice without it
We never bothered with the hood, stupid thing kept falling down so I just took it off in the end and never missed it. It's more for appearance than anything practical I think. have a new (second hand) basket from ebay and the hoods not working on that one either, not too bothered. The only time I can see where it would make a difference is if the baby was in bright sunlight but then you can just move it to the shade anyway.0 -
I do have a slowcooker (actually have 2!) but DH doesn't like most of the food i do in the slowcooker :eek: I do have lots of things in the freezer for me - SW soups etc. but DH won't eat the same - maybe i should just get him to sort himself out? But he is getting awfully moody recently as he feels he is doing everything - making me feel like i should be doing more but then saying i have an excuse so its ok - drives me nuts
You will NOT be terrible with a child - you are just going through a bad patch - it WILL get better
Have you spoken to midwife? Have you had your bloods done recently? Could you be aneamic (sp?)?
If he won't eat the same perhaps he would be best doing his own.
My OH thankfully hasn't complained about doing everything but it doesn't make me feel any better. I do wish he'd just tell me he loves doing everything or something so I can stop this guilt.
I rang midwife this morning and iron was fine at last appointment. They said it was normal to feel this way. I do work a lot and wondered if it's my fault but then most of the women on here will work hard or have children already..it can't all be about putting your feet up although that's what people constantly say to me as though I have the free reign to do that!! (Although I'm doing that now since I'm on sick!)
Personally I'd quite like 7 weeks of solitude right now.
Anyway enough moaning..Christ I moan all the time!!!
Baleb - best of luck with your sweep today - I feel for anyone going overdue.
MV - Boy am I banking that sleep as much as possible! Looking forward to the nursery pics - I was thinking bunting but knowing I'm having a boy I worried it's a bit girly. Well the ones I'm looking at are. I can't get on board with blue, boy themed items. My OH has no appreciation for it at all..doesn't know why we can't just stick a cot in there and that be that.
Poppy - wonder if my baby's heads low too then. I know he is/was cephalic when I had a 31 week growth scan so it's pretty possible. I hate the wee thing..I take so long now to go to toilet waiting to check it's all out, waiting for it to start coming out, rocking, leaning forward.0
