If you can get one of the ear ones, like they have at the Drs, they're generally the most accurate. I think we have the Braun Thermoscan?

Sorry people are feeling a bit rubbish. Things going ok here. A bit cooler tonight so hoping for a better night's sleep than last night!

Helen I agree with MV, bio oil is good. I get mine from amazon as you get double the amount compared to tesco. I've also been using it on my face as a friend recommended it and it has made my face very soft.

A friend has advised that halfords have reduced a lot of their car seats and accessories, inc the pebble. They're not all on the website though, so you may have to ring the store to ask for availability. They have also reduced their toys - some are 20p now! I also wanted one that was £23.99 reduced to £1 but our local tiny store has sold out. Hate living in boring Suffolk, never any bargains here!!!

    Morning everyone,
Havent posted in a while but have been trying to catch up on everyone though, its been really busy this end.
Our house purchase completes next week, we are renting at the moment so its a case of getting everything packed here and then moving and then getting the important stuff un packed the other end all at the same time as having a baby! :T

Got a bit of a fright at my 30 week growth scan yesterday(at the hospital that did my cvs), they first told me that my amniotic fluid had reduced from last time, he said It could be because of a number of reasons, could be a one off reading, could be a problem with the placenta but that normally shows growth problems which it hasnt or a problem with baby kidneys, but they looked fine but they arent able to check blood flow to these. So im going to be having another scan in my local hospital in a week and a bit once thats been arranged to monitor it again.
He did say if it continued to come down that they would then look to bring her out early!!!

He also then went on to tell me they have estimated she weighs now just under 4lb! And that where she is on their averages babies who follow this trend end up being around 9lb at full term!
So he said if she continued to grow they probably wont let me get past full term and might bring me in a week early to be induced or perhaps a c section if she is too big!!

It was all a bit much to take in, so if there is a problem with the fluid they will bring her out early, but even if the fluid comes back up they are going to bring me in early probably anyway due to her size!!
Its really worried me, I had the figure of 10 weeks in my head, I know its stupid as she could choose to come early anyway but I still had 10 weeks in my head until full term, but now thats not going to happen by the looks of it and Im going to have less time.

I really dont feel ready yet for her to come, emotional or physically as we are slap bang in the middle of moving and it cant be good for her to come early can it? Im so worried with everything we have gone through to come this far and for it all to go wrong at the end.

Everyone ive told even oh has either laughed when ive said about her potentially being 9lb or told me not to worry about her coming early! (Easy for them to say!)

Has anyone else had problems with their amniotic fluid and the level come back up?
Im going to be drinking lots more water now in the hope that it can make a bit of difference but I wont know now until my next scan.

Cleo - good luck with the move.

At my scan at 28 +1 this week they estimated mine was 3.5lb so on that basis, my baby would be a similar size at term.

You will be ready I'm sure - even if you are not in a 'perfect' place, the baby won't notice & a happy/ relaxed Mummy is the most important thing she wants.

I'm off to an all day wedding today. Might push the boat out & have a glass of wine & a glass of champagne - live on the edge. Staying at the hotel overnight as it's about 1.5 hours from home so looking forward to it.

    Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Argh! Scrap other people commenting on your body... My OH just handily asked "what's that purple thing on your tummy?". Turns out there's a little cluster of stretch marks I can't see! I swear they weren't there in the bathroom mirror this morning.

He's now back tracking saying they are "barely visible"... But they must be - he saw them from the other side of the room! None of my friends have stretch marks :( I know it's illogical but I'm really upset.

Has anyone got any ideas for stopping them getting worse? I've got palmers coco butter already :)

I think I've missed some pages... So I am off for a catch up... I did see I'm still at number 17 - 5wks left and I don't seem to be heading down it!

I used bio oil and palmers first time I was pregnant, but TBH I think general consensus among the professionals is if you're going to get stretch marks you're going to get them. These oils and moisturisers simply don't penetrate deep enough into the skin tissue to stop it. I think things like bio oil can help afterwards with fading though.

I wouldn't worry too much, you may only get the one stretch mark, and they do fade over time.

Does anyone know where I can get a nice maternity dress to wear for a wedding without having to spend the earth? Had a look online and theres some very nice designers but for something that I am only ever going to wear once I want to pay as little as possible really!
I will be 34 weeks by the time of the wedding.
