Morning all. Good luck NickiAnn, hope baby doesn't keep you waiting too long.
Have just heard about this on Lorraine:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2349111/Bikini-wax-spray-tan-blow-dry--The-women-makeovers-GIVE-BIRTH.html
Mums who have waxing, hard done, nails done etc before giving birth. Any of you bothering with any of this?
I'll definitely be having a bikini wax and will try and get my hair freshly washed, but seeing as I won't know the exact arrival time of little one I'm not sure it'll all last!
i was told not to have nails done, as if you need to be monitored/have emer section, they have to remove acrylic/gel nails. on my info sheet for my section it also says 'no hair removal' for a period of 2 weeks before the section.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

So because I've had a bikini wax in the past few days, if I needed an emergency c-section then I would be refused?
I told my midwife I was planning a bikini wax the day before I'm due and she said to make the most of going whilst I can!
I am off to google this thoughIf you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

Nice nails and yes I've seen loads of new mums with acrylics in photos.
The point was.. they do sections when you have acrylic/gel nails.. they claim the monitors don't work through the fake bit but that is a load of rubbish.. they don't like glittery polish and green is best avoided (mine were green glitter with Squeak!) The only problem I had was the clip didn't go on my finger straight.. but it was ok because it pee'd me off and I stuffed it on a toe anyway.
The no hair removal is a new one too.. if you need a section they shave your bits.. DRY shaved.. so if you have booked a section do it yourself before you go in cos it floofing hurts!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi everyone, hope all is well with bumps. I'm moving on to this thread now I'm 24+2, due October 15th. Has anyone had a really tight bump and sore stomach around this time? I think bubs might be having a growth spurt to explain the reduced movement. It feels like my skin is stretching to its limits!0

Slap loads of moisturiser on and no scratching it.. if it itches put more cream on.. otherwise stretchmark central!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Omg Californian is the way forward then! I might get one just incase the week before I'm due and then risk it doesn't grow back too much and hope I don't need a section.
I was planning a manicure but gels and not acrylics - are they ok or are they not really allowed too? Surely they could just use everyone's toes rather than banning nail polish! If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
What a load of rubbish! I had a section 12 days ago and no one shaved me or checked my nails. The only thing that they won't let in there is metal which sucked monkey balls as it meant that I was as blind as a bat.0

Thanks PP. I've been using wheat germ oil and cocoa butter religiously on my belly and legs since the moment I found out I was pregnant, no itching yet. Just a weird stretching sensation which is seriously unpleasant!0
