Take that list with a pinch of salt....I've just read the first 2 'categories' and 90% of the stuff listed is far from essential. A pillow?! Shoes?! For a newborn baby?!

Edit: Having read the to the bottom, I am guessing it's supposed to cover u[ until about 12 months. Still, the majority of the stuff isn't essential. A baby-bath is totally unnecessary and a fairly large waste of space.
I've already told the OH we'll be bathing the baby in a bowl in the kitchen sink until it's old enough to sit up properly, works for most other people and I know babies should be washed in water at first anyway because of their sensitive skin.

We have a baby bath that OH's mum bought at a car boot fair for 50p, and it's been a godsend.

It fits across the bath, has it's own plug and saves my dodgy back as I don't have to bend too low. My sister has also used it for her LO, and now we have it back ready for baby.

Of course you can bath your baby in a sink too, and we probably would have done that had we not been given the baby bath.

There is NOTHING remotely sexy about pregnancy!
Nope have to agree there. Me and OH have a date tonight for... him painting my toenails lol. He did also offer to help me pack my bags last night. We got as far as him going up the attic to get the bag with the breast pads, paper knickers and maternity pads in and him passing me the nipple cream before he decided that he needed to urgently go and get tea started :rotfl:

Ladies check your wedding rings...thanks to all this heat and the water I have been consuming; I have slightly swollen fingers and feet today.
I don't wear mine at night and stopped wearing them in the day about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday as it was raining and cooler I thought I'd put them on, but no I couldn't get them past my knuckles. So i've now put them away safely until after bubs gets here.

Going back to the conversation about isofix bases I don't know if anyone can answer......

We have a car seat that is part of our travel system. I've bought the base seperately which is an isofix one. My car has isofix points, but DH's doesn't (I am 99% sure that it said it could also be used with a seatbelt too). Does this mean that we won't be able to swap it between the cars? Will it be too difficut to get out of mine quickly (in which case I will have to use it with the seatbelt too)? OH won't drive my car as his is automatic and he doesn't like gears.

    Thanks

nutshell82 - the isofix base will fix into your car and then the seat will snap in and out. In your OH's car, you'll just use the seatbelt so it's easy to change between the two.
  • I've also taken my rings off, took them off last weekend because my fingers felt a bit swollen, and now i cant get them back on :)
I still feel like ive lost them sometimes though!

Not sure if you mean move the seat between cars or move the base - I'm not totally clued up on it but I think once the isofix is in your car it's not the easiest to remove but you should be able to fit just the seat into OH's car using the seatbelt.

MV, sorry you're feeling so awful, I wish there was something that I could suggest - it's maybe worth mentioning to your midwife though 'cause the anxiety can't be good for you or baby.

Had a bit of a pathetic breakdown last night at about 1am. My head was sore, I was so tired but I was far too warm and couldn't get comfy, poor OH had to deal with me crying and fussing and generally being an idiot, bless him. I wish I'd never agreed to stay at my mum's though, I only have a limited time left being responsible for just me and doing things that I want to do without worrying about having to make lunch for a 10 year old who is apparently incapable of doing anything for himself.

Sorry girls, I'm just feeling a bit rubbish today. Had this headache since Tuesday evening now, no other symptoms and my swelling seems less than it has been. Worried to phone incase they ask me to come in cause I've no way of getting there and no one to park this child with.

Sorry I really am being dull... so do I use the base im my car and snap the car seat in and out then just use the seat with seatbelt and without the base on OH's? I promise I will get it all out and try it this weekend in both cars. :o

Claree how long is it before your Mum gets back? I can't imagine volunteering for something like that at this stage so you deserve a medal. Take care and hope you're feeling better soon.

I don't have an isofix base I just fasten car seat in using the seat belt I've done this with my last 2 babies and never had any problems

Feeling very sick and got heartburn :( bump is achy and I keep getting pains thinking Braxton hicks didn't get them with the other 2 well not that I remember anyway lol

Trying to keep on top of the daily things that need doing in the house and also doing a little extra each day ie sorting old clothes, clearing drawers and cupboards etc making room for little lady's arrival, seems to be working we are making slow progress but ds1 is helping me so not to bad really need to tackle the spare room, would help if could open the door lol

Labour vibes to the bold ladies and those nearly due

    Take care all
