Oh my dearies, formula is such a bad step isn't it! Millions of years of evolution knows best than big faceless corporations whose decisions are dictated by profits - they can't even be nice if they wanted to, because the shareholders would sue or fire them!

What a topsy turvey world we live in, where people can't even connect the dots on the big decisions like our poor babies' wellbeing!

I've just caught up on the past few days and was expecting someone to have given birth since the 22nd!

Girlzmum - hopefully you're cradling your beautiful bundle right now and can now chill out with the reduced summer temperatures.

TTC40 - please could you link me to the 167 essentials needed for a newborn. I don't think I saw the link when reading.

The ladies talking about changing their knickers...this has me confused as to why? I am only 17w though so might not have experienced this yet. If this is something I have to "look forward to" I might invest in some more cotton pants from Next as I may run out using 3-4 a day! eep...I knew I joined this thread too early :)

As with any pregnancy thing it's one of those things you may or may not get. I'm fortunate enough not to be suffering with this and I'm over 30 weeks pregnant (not to say it won't happen but it isn't yet).

Little bit uncomfortable today at work...on the whole I'm ok but having more niggles as I head for the last 9 weeks! Started with a bad hip and now my back feels tight. Partner's been rubbing me which I do love I must say!

BUT..boy do I get enraged easily! I'm usually a bit of a walk over but now I'm hitting the roof at everything. My commute literally has my blood boiling. I'm over getting a seat but the other day I had to stand in first class because it was so busy. In first class they get tea and biscuits served by trolley attendant but rather than wait 30 mins for train to clear he decided to push past and serve them immediately..obvs I haven't got so many places to go to get out of way. Such was my fury I came straight home and complained to train company by email.

Now I'm reflecting I'm a bit ashamed and hope to god they don't actually ring me to discuss! :o At least I didn't just shout out 'can't the posh bas**rds wait 30 minutes for their f**(ing tea and biscuits' which is what I really wanted to do!

Hope everyone else is keeping well though. I'm off to do more online shopping for baby so may have a little look at TTC40's list. I love baby shopping and bargain hunting! :D
  • Well for those who had a guess on the gender of my baby is in fact a.........girl.

We did find out at our 20 week scan but didn't allow ourselves to believe it truly just incase they got it wrong and have been getting everything neutral.

So at the 4D scan last night when we were asked if we wanted to know the gender we said we already knew but wanted it confirming. The lady said 'don't tell me what you've been told then'

I must admit I did completely relax when she said 'girl' as well, I did say to my husband before we went in for the scan 'what on earth will we do if they say boy, not believe either of the them'

We hadn't told anyone we found out at the 20 week scan, but last night happily told family and friends.

Other than that a productive day at my place. I'm in a 2 bed flat and have a tiny tiny kitchen and had an inbuilt oven with separate hobs which means we've been making do with our fridge in the spare room.

However inbuilt oven and hobs came out today and a free standing cooker went in the space where the hobs were (an under counter fridge was under the hobs but the heat from the hobs short circuited the fridge years ago so have a tall fridge).

The inbuilt oven and unit around it came out and hey presto the fridge now stands where this used too.

Next step decorate the spare room into the nursery and get the nursery furniture from my in laws where it's been stored.

Amazing how a baby makes you change rooms in your place :rotfl:

Aww I thought pic looked like a girl as could see 3 lines which is what they said they look for at the private scan we had. It's exciting knowing isn't it :D amuses me though when people ask what I'm having, I say a girl, they ask is that a good thing...well yes it means I'm having a baby, its not like I'm a nationality that would prefer boys so it seems very odd to me to ask that. I'm rather pleased were having a girl means Dh will be out numbered if we don't have anymore children :p

We've done so much on the house since we started ttc, and especially since we found out were expecting, have even got Dh to work on changing all the doors upstairs as the old ones were crappy ones that had been glossed badly by the previous owners, so soon well have lovely new doors. It's sad the things that please you when you're pregnant lol

There is NOTHING remotely sexy about pregnancy!

    Agreed.

I am sat in a huge nightdress watching tv and hoping for the best with regard the deflation of my legs post-birth. I'm like a marshmallow woman!

Had a call today to say my 34wk bloods show I'm anaemic and the doctor has prescribed iron tablets. However I already take a pregnancy supplement which includes iron, so I'm worried about what's going to happen next and what it means.

Has anyone else been severely anaemic? What did they do?

    Evening all :)

Feeling very heavy and uncomfortable today, went to the midwife she said baby is 3/5ths engaged eek! I thought baby felt low (as if she is going to fall out lol) anyways I'm getting this worried feeling she is going to come early and I won't get my section :( although I am measuring 31 weeks now so I'm guessing this is because she engaged who knows anyhow off to bed I'm to hot and bothered need to lie there with the fan on.

    Take care all xx

Same here! My wardrobe currently consists of one of hubby's t shirts and knickers unless I have to go somewhere! I've given up on most of my maternity clothes now, it's just too hot and uncomfortable!

Hopefully won't be for much longer, only 10 days til d-day!
