Brilliant Thank You
So just need to wait for the refund from Ebuyer then I can order this one.
Bloomin heck it's only taken me two weeks!.
Everyone join hands & send possative vibes that I get a laptop with no faults & I promise NOT to try & make the recovery discs but to run the macrim Reflect free program to make a back up of the system. I may well ask for help if I get stuck lol
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN! xxxxxxThis Post Has Been Sponsored ByChocolate0 -

Have you checked the length of the warranty and the cost of an extended warranty and factored that in?
I think that you are are going about it all wrong, but are more than a little hardheaded.
At the end you have the same warranty conditions as the cheapie that I recommended in the first place.
This after you shouted me down for not recommending one with a backlit keyboard.
Erm...where is the backlit keyboard now?
The laptop is completely unsuitable for your needs, but yet you've convinced yourself it's the one for you.
Anyway, I've spent quite enough time trying to convince you of it.0 -
Yes I did write in my above post that the only draw back is the black keys on a black back ground.
When you buy the laptop it comes up with a 3 year warranty for pick up, drop off for £49.99 My next job is to try & look around for a cheaper price.
I won't be buying any thing Acer refurbished or new due to the terrible score it has on both reliability & customer service.
If I could have what I want looks wise/ what I need it would be this one:
http://www.simplyacer.com/Acer_Aspire_V5-571G_1289811.html
But I dare not push my luck on another lemon.
So there are very few laptops in my price range in Leveno & Asus the top two on reliability & customer service, that have good reviews the one I have settled on has a great review & is a i5 core for £20 more
I can't have what I want I have found since I have been looking since 8am this morning, nothing comes with everything I want apart from the Acer I have linked to, which has poor scores on reliability & customer service
yes I shouted you down & rightly so because you was not listening to me at the time.
hardheaded you bet ya it's why I am still around if I was not like this I would of passed away long ago, but that is a very long story

Why did I look at the pretty Acer one again DOH!This Post Has Been Sponsored ByChocolate0 -

Girlfriend's ACER laptop five years plus and counting. Not a scratch on it. £300 new. My Toshiba, four years plus and counting. The same. My ACER Aspire One(much the same as yours, but with XP and more RAM) is of a similar age.
So that is two ACER machines of approx. five years old.
You are obsessing over the wrong things. Some Lenovo machines will be cheap and cheerful, but their IBM inspired machines carry the name through, as they are solid.
Lenovo are a Chinese company who bought a well renowned brand name to get their name taken seriously. ACER and ASUS are Taiwanese. Most made by the same manufacturers.
It's your money in the end...whatever makes you happy. But your criteria is all over the place and it's not really Tech advice that you need. You need saving from yourself.
Next time, choose 'Create Factory Image', not 'Recover'.0 -
What I want is a working laptop lol
I need:
£0.00 ~ £380
i3 Core or above
4GB
DVD Player
Bright Keyboard
3 Year Warranty ( I Know this will cost extra on top of quoted price)
Prefer they take Paypal

Get yourself a 'good enough' cheapie; Toshiba Satellite C855D-13N for £179.99 and be done with it.0

your mistake wasn't making the recovery discs, it was attempting a factory restore and turning the machine off in the middle. There was probably nothing wrong with the machine, if you'd have left it to complete, you would probably be working now, as would your old one (if an i5 is old) if you'd have backed up as suggested long ago and bought a £40 disk and a hinge.

you have an external hard disk for backup already don't you?!!

Get two! Great for if anything should go wrong with one. :rotfl:0 -
Of no consequence, but my ASUS recovery discs needed 5 DVDs, and took about 5 hours each disc!0
