I've Killed My New Laptop!

lol
Thanks
So in theory then if its not the specs that were wrong just that laptop was faulty then the first Acer laptop with i3 core should be ok just it's Acer which aren't as reliable in your opinion.
My last laptop was Packard Bell I will try & see if I can find any of them with i3 core as that one lasted me 3 or 4 years but higher specs. I know this does not mean another one will though last as long.
Just disheartened now after this one had so many error messages.

Oh dear I thought I had cracked it!
Packard Bell was taken over by Acer, but there was a lot of there laptops around last year so I guess now they have stopped selling under the PB brand
Ok what makes Asus better than the other brands? is it reliability of the computer? better customer service?
Surprised Samsung is so hgh up the list!

Last survey I saw showed that Lenovo had overtaken Asus in terms of reliability and customer satisfaction, will try and find the link after dinner.0

Thanks
I like the Asus X501A because it has a shiny screen which I have found on Acer laptops is much richer in color than the mat ones. It's got a white? background with black keys so good for my eyes.
Not havig a DVD/CD player inside is not a problem as such as I only rip CD's which I could buy a external one to do this.
What happens if the laptop crashes as even if I had the recovery discs there would be no where to put them? or are you supposed to buy a external one to do this?
And can you buy the recovery discs as I am now scared to death to do it wrong again.
Sorry for all the questions

The first thing I did after getting my windows 8 laptop to the point where it had all the bloatware removed and the software I wanted installed was to make a system image to an external hard drive(there is an option to do this within windows or you can use an third party software),then if windows wont start, you can use this to restore your computer.0

Full review of that asus you are looking at http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/laptops/1293343/asus-x501a0

Thank You,
I didn't understand how to make a copy of the laptop on a hard drive sorry.
I would need to buy a hard drive, then is the info on the laptop on how to make a image copy to the hard drive?
At the moment I feel like cancelling my broadband & forgetting all about the net, I can't though as I need to be able to buy food if parents can't get to the shop
Is this one for sale on PCworld for the same price? This laptop can't load the page on PCworld

In Control Panel there is an item called Windows 7 file recovery(its called that even in Windows 8),if you click on that ,it gives you an option to "create a system image, you can use an external had drive or discs. This system image is essentially a snapshot of your operating system at that moment in time. Then if you run into problems, you can use use this system image to restore your computer. There are a couple of tutorials in these links
