Great for the dog,and great for you too!! Certianly sounds like she is committing fraud somewhere along the line.Perhaps she is now scared it is going to come out and is trying to frighten you into saying nothing else.Well, serve her right!!

I have just spoken to the HA and reported lazy owner for the abuse and threatening behaviour. I mentioned that I had to involve the police too. The lady said that even if there was a report made regarding her dog barking that it would be anonymous and this neighbour shouldn't be coming around banging on my door full of drink and being abusive and threatening. It is against her tenancy agreement so the lady has passed this over to an officer who will speak to lazy owner about this. Fingers crossed this is close to an eviction! They never say number 1 made a complaint about number 3 so she has no solid proof who it was therefore shouldn't be pointing fingers.

Sorry for all the edits, it's the predictive text on my phone! :)

Can someone please help me :) I really believe that nosy neighbour has been recording sound on a video camera. I have thought this for a few days as there has been a few things said that she shouldn't know unless she has really good ears! Well yesterday I noticed what looked like some kind of camera in her window pointing at my house. I checked again today as it was still there so I went into the living room to tell dad to come upstairs and look out the window because I think nosey neighbour has a video camera in the corner pointing over to our window. It took less than one minute for my dad to run up and look out. He said there nothing there? So I looked again and it had gone! I really believe that she is listening in, no wonder she knows so much about everyone around here. It was a white box with a red circle in the middle. Any idea what it is? I could see what looked like a laptop next to it so possibly wired up to it. If she is videoing sound and pointing her camera at my house then I am sure the police will be very interested as she is invading my privacy and everyone passing.

Oh for heaven's sake, that woman is deranged.

I am pretty sure i saw on one of the BBC Neighbourhood Watched programmes, where someone had similar problems, that you can have a camera on your house but you are only allowed to have it pointing at your own front or back garden or the street. It is against the law for the very reason you state, invading your privacy,to direct it towards your neighbours property and the police actually informed him/her of that.

I think aniother call to the police, and HA is in order, for advice if nothing else.

I have just had another look and can't see it but I do believe she is recording. There's a few reasons why I think this..

During the big argument she said she has a video camera in her bedroom window and she seen me come out of my house the previous night and paint my fence. Well no one has painted my fence and I didnt leave the house that night so I thought she was joking about having a video in her window. It wasn't until a few things have got back to me that I thought this woman is definitely listening in somehow. Then I noticed this camera thing in the window yesterday and today. Very odd how she moved it as soon as I speak to my dad about it, it's like she can hear conversations even when I am inside the house with upstairs windows slightly open.

Anther thing makes me think she is recording.. She always has her windows closed and roller blind pulled all the way down but yesterday and tonight all back windows are wide open and roller blind half way down.

The night I phoned police, I spoke to another neighbour over the phone and said I had called police. And then I hear nosy neighbour and her two daughters say the police are coming.

There is definitely a law against pointing a camera in a public place especially my property (home) and I am sure you can't record sound?
This nosey neighbour owns her home so HA couldn't do anything, it is a police matter? I have googled to find this camera what I have seen in her window and can't find anything like it.

You can set up video recording equipment to monitor your own property, but it is definitely illegal to record video of someone else's property. I'm not too sure about the position on sound. Vicx, can I suggest that you register on the neighbours from hell in Britain forum, there are far more knowledgeable people about this sort of thing on there.

BTW, I would still consider this harrassment, and would report it to the police. The woman does sound like a visit to the GP is needed.

When we first moved here we got warned about this nosy neighbour, how she is nosy and a grass (checks up to make sure you have a driving licence and are insured/taxed and everything. I've seen her for myself walking around checking the car tax. She has nothing on me though but I know she has reported my immediate neighbour for many things, even leaving his bin out). She wants to know everyone's business and doesn't miss a thing! Lazy owner has always said that nosy neighbour doesn't sleep which is why she sees everything going on, now I think she has been recording all the time and listening in on conversations.

I will have a look at that website when I go on laptop, thanks. I am using my mobile at moment as I haven't had time for the laptop hence all the edits, predictive text!

Sounds like you know a lot about what shes doing and isnt doing. Is that not being a nosy neighbour yourself?
Perhaps you would be better off getting on with your on affairs instead of being preoccupied with your neighbours.

She told me she was recording, I didn't believe it but when a few things were mentioned I thought she must be listening in somehow so I looked yesterday and noticed what looks like a camera. Checked again this afternoon and it was still there.

I have known this lady to speak to for 15 years and know she always keeps her windows closed at night and blinds shut so she is definitely up to something. She sees and knows so much about every one in our street. It's wasnt until this argument that I've realised she is recording sound.

That must make me a nosy neighbour too hmmm. This is harassment and there is a law against it. I won't be ignoring what she is doing as it is privacy invasion. She is allowed to check tax on everyone's cars but to listen in on conversations and watch who's going in and out of people's houses by video recording is just wrong and illegal so no I won't just switch off and let her get on with it.
