the last of us. very good game but not as good as many have made it out to be. thankfully not as hard as i feared it might have been. not got to the end yet though so there maybe something tough yet to come i guess.

    Whaaaa?

If you're playing for the first time (which I assume you are), Normal isn't hard, I agree.
    Then try it on Survivor...

As for it not being 'that good', I won't even start on that ;)

I will say I do like games which let you change the difficultly part way through, I like a challenge but sometimes things just get impossible (in my terms) which can really ruin things.

I am still in the balance about buying a PS3 for the few exclusives I missed and the last of us is one of them. The other problem is the Dual Shock 3 actually actually causes me pain if used for too long.

I'm trying to get into playing FFXIII: Lighning Returns at the moment as I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan, however I'm finding a bit mind numbing compared to the previous 2 in the XIII series. Not really enjoying the battle system but I'll persevere with it!

I have to admit, I really didn't like FXXIII at all, and it was all to do with the battle system. It was like they tried far too hard and ended up making it really confusing. TBH, I really loved FFX, and I wish they'd do something along those lines with the battle system when you had to learn things like 'Holy' and 'Firegra' and what have you. the story was brill as well, although I cocked the whole thing up by not getting one of the Temple spheres earlier, and I then realised I couldn't get Anima. (Yojimbo was fantastic though)
Toying with the idea of getting the remastered one, but I don't know whether I should just get FFXIV instead. Decisions, decisions :)

ps3 is superior to the 360 in my opinion. the ps3 had a slow start but after that it became superior in my opinion. its worth having for uncharted 2 and 3, last of us, killzone 3 and i am sure many more. i dont get everything so there will be some i have forgotten. it runs quieter and plays blurays as well. i dont mean to knock the 360 coz that is a great console also.

FFXIV is a MMORPG, don't forget! Not really a fair comparison. If you're after some old-school FF action, IV and VI have been re-released recently, and there are a couple of decent similar games on Android now. Lost Odyssey on 360 is pure FF-style JRPGing, and have you seen Ni No Kuni?

I'm also on the lookout for a nice, cheap PS3, although I don't know when I'll get around to it considering my backlog! I'm only really after The Last of Us and Demon's Souls, so if DS gets remastered on PS4 as well, I'll be skipping the PS3 entirely, probably.

You can use a DS4 on the PS3, which is appealing for me, as I also dislike the DS3. I'm keeping an eye out now for a DS4 to use for PC and Android stuff, and then I'll have it ready if I pick up a PS3 or PS4 in future.

The DS4 isn't 100% compatible, but the compatibility list is long (and includes my two wanted games!). Also note it'll need to be connected using a "wire" (I learned about such technology in my History class).

Don't choose a console based on the controllers, you can get Xbox style controllers for the PS3 and vice versa :)

I have a media PC so any media capabilities are useless.

Overall I am a PC gamer so its not about a comparison to 360, my PC blows them both out of the water (hell it even beats the PS4) so its purely on the exclusives as you mention and a few more.

Its just waiting for a console around £60 and finding a decent controller, does anybody know of any good third party controllers for the PS3? I would say 360 style, but what I really mean is ergonomic.
