Borderlands isn't completely linear like that. It sounds like you might have "skipped" a bunch of optional sidequests (they are optional, but you should be doing them if the main quest is above your level).

Look at your character sheet. What level are you? (And have you spent all of your skill points?)

Look at your journal page. What level is the quest where you kill Bonehead?

I think that maybe you're too low-level. Pick some other quests in your journal that match your level. Selecting them will make them the active waypoint on your map.

Are you using your special skill? E.g. if you're Roland, are you using your turret?

Have you got accessories equipped? A good shield, grenades, etc?

Some of that advice may seem patronising, but the Borderlands interface is utterly awful, so if any of that helps, it's not your fault but the game's! (IMO)

I hate it already. It's the most fiddly, annoying game ever, and I haven't even battled yet, I'm stuck in some poxy town, doing daft quests, and looking for people with a rubbish map that you can't seem to enlarge with font that you need brilliant eyesight to read. Don't get me started on the 2 hour download/set up cobblers.
I really don't care what eye colour I can give my character, nor their skin tone, nor if they have a tattoo. I just want to play the game !!!!!!!! :mad:

The graphics are good though.

EDIT - it says a lot when a seasoned gamer like DH is confused by it and has to resort to confusing videos as guides that people have posted.

I started looking at Watch_Dogs again, especially as I could get it together with a GTX 770. Fortunately for my wallet, the feedback on gaming forums says it's checking every tickbox on the "mediocrity" form. I nearly pre-ordered it for £17 (the Deluxe edition), so I'm pleased I checked out some previews before checking out! Looks like they were spot-on - repetitive, average, poor handling, and not a trace of anything revolutionary or jaw-dropping.

Just got a loan of South Park: The Stick of Truth for a couple of days - by far & away the most foul mouthed, obscene video game I've ever played and god knows I played with some foul mouthed people on Warcrack!
