Prince of Persia - the Sands of Time. An old game but I'm playing it for the first time and overall it's a lot of fun. The combat is infuriating at times but it makes for a big challenge. There was a sale and I bought three other PoP titles - Warrior Within, The Two Thrones and the artistic PoP released in 2008. Hoping another big 80% - 85% sale comes around in the summer, have a long list of old-ish games I would love to play but didn't get a chance.

No PoP game (and when I'm feeling nostalgic, no other games) top the first PoP for me. Good times they were!

But anyway, I'm half an hour into AC4BF.

I love PoPSoT! The whole series was good, but number one was the best by far. 2 and 3 have a very different feel to them, they're quite gritty and edgy whilst the first one is just fun. I played the newer one too, but I can't really remember it now - that's saying something, right?

Definitely agree with you! I loved ACBF btw. Not the storyline so much as I thought it was a bit rubbish, but just being back in the AC atmosphere with the open world(ish) gameplay and the memorable soundtrack was nice. Found the ship a bit tedious at first, but it got better when I started upgrading and kicking some serious a double snakes. Enjoy!

I'm not playing anything atm, but just downloaded dead souls from games with gold, and might give it a go soon.

Dark Souls is challenging. :D I think a lot of the fun is discovering things for yourself, but I always give one tip to newbies: you should NOT be fighting skeletons (proper, meatless skeletons) in your first few hours. If you see skeletons, turn around and go up the hill.

I'm trying to get into Skulls of the Shogun from the recent Humble Bundle, but it seems rather... awful? The controls seem absolutely abysmal.

well followed advice which resulted in me getting past bonehead easily in borderlands but now its got hard again. many bad guys that take alot of hits to kill while you die after 2 or 3 shots and you have rubbish weapons that dont help. was on a task where i had to get a mine key and was in this room where there is a armoured bad guy as well as others and they just wont die. it might have been do-able if the weapons where any good. i decided to try a different task where i have to get parts for a sniper rifle but thats no better.

AC4BF looks amazing from the videos I've seen. Unfortunately my graphics card won't support it, but I've a long list of great old-ish games I want to play before buying a new card. I just completed PoP SoT and it was an amazing game, the sound track got better and better and the ending was really good. At the beginning of the game I thought the Prince was taking to me the gamer, but it turns out he is speaking to the Princess. Awesome game. I'm a bit down that Warrior Within and Two Thrones seem quite different, WW is very dark, saw the intro to it and the heavy metal music seems out of place. It would make sense if the Princess is dead and he gets depressed and angry but she isn't and it feels like a new reboot of the game rather than a continuation of the story. Ah well, I'll start playing that now and see how it goes. Happy gaming to the rest of you.

Thanks for the tip! I have to confess...I tried it once a few years ago when it originally came out, but I was really crap at it :D. When I saw it free with Gold, I thought I'd take another bash at it and see if I'm still as bad as I was then. Any other tips would be welcome!

When I'm stuck in a situation like this and the opportunity is there, I upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. It's what got me through AC4. Hope you have a breakthrough soon!

Cheer up! As different as they are, they still have that puzzle-solving/climbing feel to them so they are still fun, albeit not as much as the first one. Happy gaming to you too, sir (ma'am? I dunno).

Ive just bought Lego Hobbit preowned on eBay for a good price, love these games as I can get 100% achievements on them (already fully completed Marvel and Lego Movie versions), and they can be quite challenging sometimes!! I know its aimed at kids but still...!

Plus I know when I have completed, I will be able to sell it on for roughly the same price I paid for it

  • I'm loving minecraft at the moment. Just started a multiplayer game with my neighbour, but I was shocked to see that you can't play on seperate networks, and that you have to pay if you want to be a server.

Is there anyway round this or does everyone playing have to be on the same LAN?

i managed to find a few more do-able side missions which have made the missions i'm stuck on slightly easier but they are still too hard. upgrading weapons is difficult because there isnt much of any quality in the shop and your money runs out very quickly in this game due to having to top up your ammo constantly. another stupid thing is characters you have killed reappear. during a task where you collect tape recordings one is in the area where bonehead was and when i went to get it there he was alive again with his buddies. the stupidness of this game is even with a rocket launcher it can take several shots to kill someone.
