    Credit cards: Mint & MBNA
I had to threaten with the financial ombudsmen in both cases as i was only offered a 3rd of the costs from both banks but very quickly when the third letter threatening court was sent they both coughed up the sponddoolies. Interestingly enough they both offered exactly the same portion of refund but persistence paid off! Don't settle for the first offer! I feel like i am really a money saver now.... where's that Egg card.....:j

    Natwest
    Claimed £2270 plus interest
    Offered £1738
    One Letter

I wrote to Natwest on 17th. April claiming on both a personal and business accounts and claiming financial hardship. Initial response was very quick. On the personal account I was sent an Income and Expenditure form to complete and on the business account just a letter informing me the case was being considered.I claimed £2270 plus interest on the business account and today got an offer of a goodwill gesture of £1738.i think that is a result

  • Please can somebody tell me where you should send a claim for Natwest Bank Charges. Is it just the local branch or is there a customer service centre somewhere? Many thanks.

have posted this in the hardship success stories also as i claimed under the hardship criteria, however it is still a success story and wanted to share it with as many of you as possible!
    Bank: rbs
Amount Reclaimed: £3134.37 (£4056.77 with interest)

    Amount they paid: £3324
How long did it take: a long time! aug 2007- may 2009
The story: originally claim in aug 2007, was put on the back burner when the court case started, thenin july2008 i filed for hardship and was denied... so i asked for criteria and was accepted! but then i was told i still had to wait till the outcome of the case.
anyway after seeing martin lewis saying that if they have accepted hardship they are obliged to finish dealing with the claim, so i wrote back about 3 weeks ago and gave them 14 days to respond, 2 days ago i got a letter saying an offer would be follow shortly, and today we got the letter with the offer. it also says that accepting this offer will not affect any future benefit after the court case, so it the court case turns out to be more beneficial to me they will reinburse me the remaining amount! so i cant lose!:j
thankyou ever so much to every one who i got information off, and to all those still waiting, good luck it can happen for you too!:T:T

    ABBEY
    Amount claimed - approx £2000
    Recieved - £1800
    Timescale - 4 -6 weeks

After taking the advice on here about financial hardship I contacted Abbey even though I dont bank with them anymore (at least 2 years) and owed them £1800 on an overdraft.. They wrote back in 4 weeks to say they were dealing with it after I put in my claim form and then wrote back a fortnight later to say they had wiped my overdraft out.. RESULT.

Very impressed with both the advice and the Abbeys attitude.

    Many many thanks:money:

This is my first post on this forum. I started chasing bank charges in November 2008 - with tenacity as I am in financial hardship dues to some personal troubles over the last few years!
AMAZING SUCCESS just by following Martins tips (he's made it SO EASY - thank you Martin).

Lloyds TSB - Asked for £176.22 and got £177.01
Barclaycard - Asked for £238.86 and got £211.85
NatWest - Asked for £397.40, they offered £436.32, I made a quick phone call, said I wasn't satisfied, 30 seconds letter they offered £500 which I took!
Still waiting for Alliance and Leicester and am now going down the Hardship route - still fighting debt but at least going the right way!
Also, once I realised how easy it was I got onto my PPI's - Lloyds I asked for £204.54 and they sent me £328.62 plus CCP returned £15 that I had forgotten whether I had paid but just wrote to them to check! Very impressed.

Fingers crossed for A&L now - and sorting out the rest of my debt ;-)

    Bank: Natwest
    Amount: £2200 (ish inc. Interest).
    Started Claiming: 1st June 09

I put in a claim to Natwest under hardship and around 1 week ago recieved a financial statment form to complete, which was returned on Monday of this week.

I'm claiming under Hardship and have also included a copy of my P45 which states i have left employment.

I'm now back in emplyment, but they wouldnt know this, maybe i should change the bank that my new wages will be paid into ;-)

I'll keep you updated on the progress !

Have today recieved a reply from Natwest requesting i now send proof or priority debts and bills to them. I should have thought ahead and sent these with the Financial Statment i sent back :)

    Fingers crossed !
