Hi, I started to claim in May using the letter templates, it was the best 10.00 I have ever spent.
Royal Bank of Scotland,
I claimed 6,509.00
They paid out 6,509.00
Thank you I just got in under the wire with the new ruling and everything being put on hold.
Again Thank you.

Given last Friday's announcement I honestly didn't think I'd be posting on this board, well not for at least another year. Here's my story:
Bank: Lloyds TSB
Amount: £1075.50 (including stat interest of £210)
Asked for statements: 23rd March 2007
After receiving the standard "our charges are lawful" letters I wrote to the Ombudsman 26th June.
Today I received a letter from the Ombudsman dated 26th July confirming that, whilst no admission of liability has been made, LTSB have made an offer of £1075.50 to settle the dispute. Once I sign the acceptance it may take 6 weeks for the money to appear in my account.
Words cannot express how happy I am at this moment. I would not/could not have done this had it not been for Martin, Edinburghlass, Rex_Mundi and all those who've kept me inspired along the way with their success stories.
Thank you everyone.

Bank Lloyds TSB
Amount claimed £1372
Amount received £1372
Just recieved a letter from the Ombudsman dated the 25th saying that Lloyds TSB accepts no liability but nonetheless says it will pay me £687 :j .
I have already received £685 using the claim forms on here.
I did phone the Ombudsman just to make sure that Lloyds will pay me as all claims have been suspended and thay said yes.
Thanks:money:0 -
HSBC Claimed £2960 recieved £2547
Alliance & Leicester £453 - £453
Barclaycard £120 - £120
MBNA £257 - £65...so far
Started all these cases in April some were paid early but others e.g HSBC has taken a while longer. I Have won four charges cases now but was waiting for the large pay out before posting. Thought I was not going to recieve this money on Friday and was informed by HSBC I would not get a sausage until the case was finished, however after checking my account on 28/07/07 the cash had been paid in!! I originally turned their offer down of £2427 and asked for a further £120 which I deeply regretted on Friday but it's come good.
This site has helped greatly in keeping up my optimism and I can now use this cash to pay some debts!!0 -
Claimed £5,703 from Halifax (£7,438 with interest)
Rejected 1st letter, sent 2nd ignored so sent 3rd and wrote to FO

On basis better to have money lost back in my hands will accept now rather than wait any further.:j
Result Halifax have to refund £5,580 which can now earn me 5.5% in a savings account.
So thanks for the advive and good luck to those who still wait. :money:0 -
Bank: HSBC
Amount Reclaimed: £1836.00 / £2204.00 with interest
Amount they paid: £1836.00
We've been following the whole reclaiming of charges thang for a while and kept saying we should do it but never got round to it. Then the banks started getting dark and fighting back so we decided to get our skates on and get a claim in.
We watched the movie on this site and followed the plan with all the letter templates. We submitted our first letter on May 29th (2 hours before my wife went in to labour) hand delivered to our branch by my wife - she's a good 'un. Within 3 days we received a letter of acknowledgement.
After 14 days I hadn't heard anything so I issued the 2nd letter. I received a call from my bank who said that they were looking in to my claim and that they were exercising their 8 week investigatory period in order to do so. We had just had another baby (Daisy) and so were quite preoccupied with that so we decided to wait.
Then, 2 weeks ago we received an offer of exactly what we asked for with a form for me to sign that said something along the lines that they do no admit or accept they are in the wrong blah.....blah.....blah...... please fill it in and they'll pay the agreed amount into my account within 14 days of receiving the letter - which should be any day now.
Thanks Martin.
Next Target is my closed Halifax account - that should be good for at least a monkey if not more......

Bank: Natwest
Amount Reclaimed: £119
Amount they Paid: £119
Been following this charges reclaiming thing for a while although my bank have never charged me. But it was time to claim when my sister was charged several times.
Using the templates on this site, my sister sent off the first one asking for the money back. She received a reply after 2 week saying that the case would be investigated which could take upto 6-8 weeks. But by that time she had already sent off the second letter, again using the template, threating to go to court - she was quite keen!A couple of weeks later, she received a reply from the bank explaining that they believed the charges were applied legally and that this was explained in their T&C's. They even enclosed a copy of the T&C's and refused to accept liability of it all. But as a "gesture of goodwill" they offered £119 in full and final settlement of the claim. She has now signed to accept the offer and returned the form, awaiting money to be paid into her account.
Thanks to all the help from this site and forum0 -
Bank: Natwest
Amount claimed (A/C 1): £320.65
Amount claimed (A/C 2): £326.33
Amount offered: £727.90 (Full, including interest and court fees)
Bank: RBS
Amount claimed: £107.94
Amount offered: £137.94 (Full, including interest and court fees)
I had an interesting ride reclaiming my charges, and managed to slip in 10 days before the rubbish moratorium that's just been imposed.
I started on the 2nd of March by asking the banks for the charges back over the phone. Because some of them were their fault rather than mine (my low-use account at RBS was put on a premium fee paying package without my consent, and I didn't realise for 8 months because statements were delivered to my parents' address), I got £300 or so back straight off. Tried the same with Natwest on my #1 a/c, and received a letter a week or two later offering me half what I'd claimed, as if I was already 3 steps down the process. I knew that wasn't all the charges on the account, so I ignored the offer and started the process as on this site.
I started the statement request on the 6th of March; 40 days after requesting statements, I called the banks, who told me they had no record of the request, so sent me the statements free of charge, telling me to cancel my cheque. That still took another 3 weeks, but that wasn't a huge problem. In the end I received 2 full sets of statements for all 3 accounts, from which I only needed about 10 pages. Oops!
Once I had all my statements, I started writing the letters as everyone does, and had complete radio silence bar a couple of "give us 6 weeks" letters in reply to my letter threatening court action, which I ignored. Due to exams, I didn't stick firmly to the timetable, and tended to give them 3 or 4 weeks instead of being too strict about it.
Having still not really heard anything, I started with MCOL on the 6th of July. The banks acknowledged (10th) before they were officially served papers (11th), and so I expected a long wait and then a click of the judgment button. However, on the 17th and completely out of the blue, I received two letters from RBS group, both special delivery, containing cheques for the full amount with interest and costs! Cashed the cheques no problem, and canceled the MCOL claims. 4 and a half months from start to finish, but so worth it!
Good luck to everyone else, especially with this OFT thing going on - I hope you can all get these unfair charges back.0 -
BANK: LloydsTSB
AMOUNT CLAIMED: £1534.22
AMOUNT RECEIVED: £1534.22
I finally got a payment from LloydsTSB last Tuesday, they paid back my charges, plus interest and court costs, £1534.22 altogether. No problem getting the info I needed but after that when I asked for the money back I may as well have been talking to a brick wall. Went to Moneyclaim and that was quick easy and they were very efficient. It was getting very close to the 14 days that Lloyds had to reply and I got a letter saying that they were going to defend and that I have to contact my branch manager to review my account!! Panicked a little, spoke to my BM and she said it has nothing to do with her and she can't help me. Then I phoned my boyfriend and I had another letter from Lloyds sitting at home saying that they were settling everything as a goodwill gesture but will not admit liability. Well I said yes of course and here I am, and just in time too. Also my friend just got £2000 back from Halifax. Thanks to you guys, you helped a lot, couldn't have done it without this website and reading the success stories and struggles. :beer:0 -
My current claim against the TSB is at the acknowledgment stage with money claim online.
With the recent announcement about the test case, and all claims being put on hold, I had all but given up on receiving anything in the near future.
HOWEVER, today I received a without prejudice letter from SCAM dated 24th July (Took a long time to reach me) offering me the FULL amount claimed plus interest, plus court fee. I rang them straight away and was told my offer still stands. What a relief - £1734 I didn't think I'd see again.:j
So, just to let others know they are still sending out settlement letters. Don't give up hope just yet!
Just wanted to say a big thank you to all those who have posted on here - couldn't have done it without you. I hope every one of you get the money back you deserve.
Finally, MARTIN - You are my HERO and I cannot thank you enough for bringing this to our attention. WELL DONE!!0
