Ok as the title I do wonder what the hell is the point of having a new born baby and throwing it into full time nursery, and I mean 08-00am - 6pm (once a week 7pm) what is the point of actually having the poor child!?
The "We cant afford not to doesn't cut" sorry downsize, why have a child to let a stranger look after it that amount of time!>!

because it's an expensive world we live in...because people have standards they don't want to lower....because nursery care is generally very good quality...because both parents consider themselves at crucial points in their careers and to take time out now would ruin it for them...because people need to earn a living.....
who are you to judge?0 -
Perhaps because some poor woman was married and pregnant and the OH bu99ered off? now she has to work full time to support them? There could be many reasons and tbh unless you know what they are - the parent shouldn't be judged.0

Why have a child to dump it at school all day?
If only those who could afford not to work had children we would have severe problems pretty soon, come on, how many couples can afford not to work?0 -

Yeah fair enough to all comments I was talking re family both work full time and have decided to have a child and put it to full time nursery from approx. 3 months for 9 hours a day just curious as to why, I appreciate some have no choice but they do!
As you all say each to their own a guy I work with puts his 2 dogs to a kennel daily before work and picks them up on way home so I guess similar idea, each to their own I guess!0 -
Obviously it's not for everyone but i don't think it's fair to judge people like that. You have no idea what financial commitments they may have. Surely returning to work and keeping a roof over their child's head is the best option if that's what they need to do?
I am currently pregnant with my first and will have to go back to work after 6 months and have my baby in nursery 3 days per week 8-6. It doesn't mean i will love him any less. The fact maternity leave for me means a £2000 per month wage cut will have a hell of an impact and i simply wont be able to afford to take any longer off.0 -
Having a pleasant Saturday OP?
Go and look at the moon for a bit, relax, and stop worrying about other people's lives:

I agree with you. If you don't want to look after it, why have a baby?
But then I am not a parent. Perhaps if I was I'd be putting the child into nursery and trying to regain my sanity :rotfl:0 -
I appreciate and totally see that some don't care about strangers caring for their kids for longer hours than they do, changing their nappies, reading to them ,hearing them speak, smile for the first time, fair enough as I said you got to work and cant afford it then its a choice you make, I just wondered what the point was instead of waiting a few years saving up to appreciate fully your newborn baby for the first year and savour every moment, call me old fashioned we went without but the new fashion is "we cant afford not to work" as I have said each to their own!0
