If you're offering to send me a magazine that's very generous of you - please PM me if I have not misunderstood this!
I need to be held to account, but the hours and location of the groups just don't work for me (and an internet forum is easy to hide from)

Hi MrOrchard,
I've done the globe trotting job, and know well the challenges!
Exploit the hotel breakfast buffet. Fill up on the fruit salad, lean cooked meats and perhaps a wholemeal roll. If there are low fat yoghurts all to the good. A good breakfast makes lunch easier.
Flights are more of a problem, but you can take back control by taking your own meal if you're worried. My OH is working away a lot, and I've been sending him off with foil takeaway containers (so he can just chuck them when he's finished) of SW food. Last week I sent him with a sort of tuna nicoise (tuna in spring water, cooked green beans, boiled eggs, baby new potatoes, tomatoes, green leaves) and a smaller tub of fruit salad. Another time I did couscous, salad leaves and tandoori chicken, and I've started making SW quiche in a big square pyrex and keeping it in portions in the freezer for him to grab as he leaves.
So long as you don't take it off the plane at the other end there isn't a problem. For a 12 hour flight I would probably pack myself two meals, cos I find I'm always hungry on the plane. Also, those mug shots that come in a cup could be useful for a mid-flight snack? All you'd need is to ask the stewards for some boiling water. Many of them are free

Urgh had a working lunch sprung on me during a meeting today so been abit naughty.
what do you reckon the syns would be for this little lot?
b - 2 x alpen (heb) - before I knew about meeting
l - 2 small triangles of sandwich, 1 ham and mustard, 1 egg mayo both on granary bread. 1 falafel, 1 kofta, 1 keema dumpling thingy, handful of crisps (tasted like kettle crisps) and a few grapes! oh and a shortbread biscuit when I started falling asleep about 3pm!
Ideally I would of known in advance and had my own lunch prepared but I didnt so had to go along with the flow really. Very annoying!
I will definitley be having a syn free dinner tonight0 -
Welcome to the thread and good luck with SW!!
I think they fact you are NOT a yoyo dieter will REALLY go in your favour when losing weight, there's no diet like your 1st proper diet!!
Looking forward to hearing all about your losses and being VERY jealous of themNo photos of me at desired weight, I've been overweight since childhood, it's not a recent thing, which I think could make it harder to shift weight in the long term. I'm not a yo-yo weight sufferer, I'm just always heavy.
I went for the cheaper online membership - which doesn't have the magazine, wasn't sure it would really help or inspire me. Is it available in regular shops as well?
There's five months until the new year, so I guess I'd put in a realistic target of 3 stone by Christmas, 1.83lb per week. Am I going to be held to account now by MSE?
We're also expecting another baby in the new year, and I want to be a healthy father and set a good example. I cycle 50 -100 miles per week when in the UK (my preferred commute into London), but balance the calorie expenditure with plenty of wine and quiche. Willpower, willpower, willpower.0 -
well today has defo just been a no-plan day, i woke up with a sore throat and the serious lack of wanting to do anything let alone cook, probably drank more than my 250mls milk seeing as i have been drinking coffee all day and that's been mainly cold lol0

Quite happy with how today has gone again. Day 2 and all still ok. Although I started my Summer Holidays Diet on Monday it was all in my head because we didn’t actually finish school until today. Today was last day of term. I’ve been given a lot of chocolate by the lovely children in my class. I have a BIG box of Thornton’s, 2 layer Dairy Milk box, 2 boxes of Lindor and the new Cadburys ‘Thank you teacher’ round praline chocs! I’ve put them in the cupboard for Christmas and I intend on leaving them there. Really hope I do. Really hope I make it this time

woohoooooo!!
After my first weigh in - Ive lost 7½lb, extra easy is just that. I'm in to the lower stone.0 -
Frogga - that breakfast sounds so yummy right now!
I have been away for a few weeks, work/family/holidays - you all know how it happens.
I rejoined my local group, then promptly went on holiday so had GAINED 0.5lb on my first week back.:rotfl: My first proper weigh in tomorrow morning. I have just spent 1/2 hour planning next weeks menu's and my shopping list. I have been going back to gym as well ( have tennis elbow - from horse riding!) and recently bought a mountain bike, although it has been too hot to ride, so only been out twice. Gosh I am good at making excuses.
Frogga - if the chocolate is too much temptation, as it would be for me, why not donate it for raffle prizes to local charities etc.
Hope everyone has a good week.
