    Hi crafty witch.

You have inspired me to post, I have been doing SW from home for just under a week, and have been reading the thread, but hadn't had a reason to post till now.

I have at least 4 stone to lose, maybe a bit more - 4 is my initial goal. I am vegetarian too, and I think green would suit you better - fish can bd a healthy extra on green days. But there is nothing to stop you from mixing and matching the days you do either. It seems that easy extra is the preferred plan, but choose what suits you best.

    ... hello chums :D

Firstly and most importantly TIE I'm so sorry bout your news matey. I know it wasn't out of the blue but it still comes as a total shock doesn't it? Puts all other silly moans and worries into perspective. Time to live for the moment me thinks.

Well, I was doing SO well. I was sticking to it, and felt fabbo. Lots of my old clothes fit me, and I felt really good. I was 13st 5lb last time I looked before the tadpoles broke the scales by repeatedly hopping on and then off them, and I reckon I got under 13st. Then December hit, and I struggled not to nibble. The last time I felt really good was at the village fayre in November.

I jumped on mums scales yesterday and I'm now 14st 5lb. So that's a stone back on. Gutted, but I deserve it. I deserve for it to be more. I've stuffed and stuffed.

I was good on Boxing day, then stuffed in the Friday eve. Good again Saturday, then stuffed in the evening again. If I can just get through a few days, I'll stop thinking about it and it will be easy. It's the torture of the initial first few days that I struggle with.

Anyway, I hope you are all well, and 'plodding' as Beanie would say. I shall try to be good today, got plenty of veg and fruit in house so no excuses :o

Hoppy new year to you all, let us make it a good one

    Hi Everyone
Can I join in please? I went to my first Slimming world group last night and decided to enrol. I've tried diets at home before and I'm fine for a couple of days but soon fall off the wagon.
I haven't been on the bathroom scales for yonks and was disgusted to find that I will need to loose 4 st 10lbs to get back to what I weighed before I gave up smoking.:o
So first day on plan today and didn't seem too bad to get my brain round. Appalled to discover however that avocados are 9 syns!! I don't eat meat and so rely on 2 or 3 avocados a week for their EFA content,, plus I love them so totally gutted :(
My consultant put me on the EE plan as I do eat a little fish, but would I be better on the green plan do you think?

    CW

    Welcome

I think all consultants talk/introduce the extra easy plan only but as other posters have said the green plan might be the better option for you. You can ask your consultant to go through this with you or post any questions you have on here. I haven't seen the new food optimising books but last year's pack including a separate booklet for the red and green plans. :T

  • Thank you all for your replies :T

I have had a good look at the green plan book this morning and I think this is definitely the way forward for me, so I'm on a green day today :D

One think I wondered was do you all use Frylight or is there a less expensive version?

I have a reusable oil spray bottle that I refill with olive oil and I'm tempted to use this and just count the syns.

    What does everyone else use?

Currently I'm using out of date frylight, from a previous unsuccessful weight loss attempt, but if I had an oil spray bottle I would use that instead. Frylight does the job, but it smells like a chemical factory....

    Hi all
Just running on quickly. Maman, that's just my target until early May until after my ball then I will adjust it. I was aiming to go down to 12 stone 7 but I've been advised not to so I will adjust to 14 stone. I'm still 15 stone 1 according to Boots scales which I'm absolutely gobsmacked at as in the last couple of days I have consumed: hot dog in a bun with chips and loads of Mayo, (in a pub!) 2 pints of cider, a vodka and diet coke, 10 pieces of shortbread, 3 Weight Watchers wraps and some chilli made with over 25% fat mince and fairly high syn chilli sauce! So I'm quite chuffed :)
Not having a great time of it at the moment unfortunately- in unspeakable amounts of pain and my referral appointment to the hospital has turned up for March and is dependant on the consultant accepting it- if they don't I will be referred back to my GP for treatment but they've told me there's nothing they can do except give me pain relief. :( keeping my fingers crossed that they accept it!
Hope everyone's ok and hugs to those that need them xx
