TIE - hope you are doing okay. Thinking about you.

Thank for thinking of me :A it's not been a good time but at least I didn't go into a major melt down like I did when I lost my dad. Probably as that was a complete shock and as my Mum was so poorly it wasn't such a shock iykwim? Either that or it's still to come as I still haven't taken it in. Went to phone her yesterday before remembering :(.
Anyway, weighed in as usual and gained (as expected) 1.8lb (so far). I am expecting more as eating complete rubbish as have no motivation to cook proper meals. Down side is have had upset tummy most days too. Will make an effort (eventually) :o

Hope everyone has had a good break and nearly ready to go for it in the New Year.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Hello everyone, hope you've had good Christmases, and sounds like you're coping as best you can TIE.

We'll, I've not been on plan, but also not been completely OTT. Hoping to limit any damage that way. I only had Christmas pud on the day, but treated it as my tea. OH has eaten all the rest - how he can be so slim I can't imagine!

Re. Tablets, I got an ipad mini from my OH - massive surprise, as he had agreed with me we weren't buying gifts this year. Mine is 32gb, double the size of my iPhone. I like how intuitive the apple products are, and the operating system is fast. Best bet would be to go try some out I store, definitely recommend John Lewis for good advice, and no hard sell, plus they usually offer double guarantee period, and match high st prices (not online). The other good thing about apple products is their resale prices if you upgrade. Make sure you get a protective cover for whatever you buy.

Sensible eating pretty much starts from tomorrow. Was meant to be today, and started off well with porridge, but we had to drive to nr. Stoke to fetch OH's new little car, which is really cute, but meant we were starving on the way back, so ended up having chicken selects on the way home. Oh-hum, will be back on the wagon tomorrow.

    WI Monday :/
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

So planning my New Year's day meal and I want to make it delicious...

Thinking about a tomato, mushroom, pepper, grated carrot, onion, fat removed smoked bacon pasta sauce and was wondering if anyone has ever had a go at making cheesy garlic bread by toasting their healthy B bread/bread roll and mixing quark with softened garlic and parsley and spreading it over the toasted roll?

Because by my reckoning, that would be free?

Or, if anyone has any of their own recipe suggestions, that would be splendid, thank you :A

I was intending to get back on track this morning after my popcorn and crabbies fest while watching the new die hard movie last night but my day didn't get off to the greatest start when I cooked up the remaining lamb and mint sausages from tea last night. I couldn't find a syn value when I looked online yesterday but combined with the 2 slices of seeded bread, sweet chilli relish and applewood smoked cheddar, that was my syns for the day and more gone in one fell swoop. To top it off nicely, I felt quite sick after :( so a complete waste of time. I won't bore you with the other synful edibles I've had today but suffice to say, I feel pretty fed up and cross with myself especially as I've waited in all day for a parcel that hasn't turned up.

So tomorrow beckons and one hopes to be a bit more focused although the planned tea (lamb kofta meal from tesco) no doubt has unwanted syns.... and that's before I think about the extras.

It's understandable at this time of the year but I'm finding that eating carp is making me feel decidedly queasy. Not serious stomach bug type of queasy (which would mean I'd be off my food and lose weight:D) but just not right IYKWIM.

Things are gradually returning to normal. Today we had a beef casserole with loads of veggies but finished it off with cheese:o Tomorrow I'm planning a cheese sauce to use up LO veg.:( New Year's Eve will be good SW stuff with steak and wedges and veg. If only I could control those wine syns......
  • Hi Everyone
Can I join in please? I went to my first Slimming world group last night and decided to enrol. I've tried diets at home before and I'm fine for a couple of days but soon fall off the wagon.
I haven't been on the bathroom scales for yonks and was disgusted to find that I will need to loose 4 st 10lbs to get back to what I weighed before I gave up smoking.:o
So first day on plan today and didn't seem too bad to get my brain round. Appalled to discover however that avocados are 9 syns!! I don't eat meat and so rely on 2 or 3 avocados a week for their EFA content,, plus I love them so totally gutted :(
My consultant put me on the EE plan as I do eat a little fish, but would I be better on the green plan do you think?

    Hi Crafty Witch,

Welcome to the board! Someone more expert than me will be along at some point but SW always seem to push the EE plan as they did with me and not mention the Green or Red; I'm guessing Green would be better for you with you not eating meat but like I say, someone will be along to give you some advice!

I'm doing SW at home as this thread is better than any groups I have been to.

    Any questions, ask away!
    Debt free 2018 :)
