(too many) Syns are my downfall so I would be interested to know what fellow posters spend their syns on and how many you allow yourself each day. Alternatively do you limit your syns during the week so that you can enjoy that special treat at the weekend?
Also how do you plan? (because not planning is my downfall also!!)0 -

Salad dressing (0.5syns) & the odd biscuit (3 syns, though I'm not buying anymroe when they've gone!) sugar free jelly (0.5 syns), sweet & sour sauce (3.5 syns) & the occassional choc chip brioche (6.5 syns - my daughters!) just to fill syns.
This week I've had between 0 & 21.5 syns per day - i.e. I don't hit 10 every day (though the 21.5 was a one off as it was a takeaway for our anniversary). Sometimes I need them, sometimes I don't - I'm a bit all of nothing person - I can't just eat ONE chocolate bar, so I'd rather have none except my Hi-Fi bars

I dread to think how many syns I've had each day this week. I'm not sure why this is really because losing this weight is something that means a lot to me and something I want to achieve yet I don't plan my meals/prep things and I go a bit crazy with my syns!!0 -
hiya mabe your doc can give you better advice re eating veggies, what the leader said doesnt sound very scientific , more like platitudes and not proper advice.
I was reading back some threads, may I ask how old your kids are now, did you not feel like taking legal advice on the badly handled birth?
Hi aggypanthus, thanks for your comments. Unfortunately my GP knows less about living with a J pouch than I do! My consultant that performed my op just told me to do my best- ie just et as much fruit and veg as I can, without causing myself too many problems ( ie if I eattoo many, I end up on the throne all night!) I can't actually damage anything - it's just a low residue diet is easier to love with- but not very weight less friendly !
My kids are 22,17 and the child with special needs is 11. I know from my experience as a Midwife that it would have been a LONG drawn out, horrendous ordeal to try and prove negligence / damage, especially given his diagnosis was left at Autism in the absence of any better one. He does get DLA and that has helped me to get him therapy that has not been available locally on the NHS.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -

Of course I don't know what's going on in your life but I wish you peace and calm and hope your ok.
Tomorrow is a new day - you can do it.

What a great Q! I tend to enjoy a little tipple at the weekend, normally just the Friday night so I will try and stick to under 10 for most days then have 40 or so on Friday night as a bottle of wine is 27 or so syns. I spend my syns on sauces, gravies, mayo, dressings, wine and extra bread or hi fi bar/cereal sometimes if I'm peckish in the evening and fruit and yoghurt is just not cutting it. It is not very often I will use them on sweets, puddings, chocolate, crisps etc even though I love them but sometimes I do! For example, yesterday I spent 11 syns on mayo, hi-fi bar, wholemeal bread and today it's on gravy and a wee bit of puff pastry.
I've been doing the plan so long that I am in the swing for my body but clearly I need to sort out my head because I'm heavier than I have ever been!!!

I tend to more syns over the weekend and cut back during the week. I just tot up throughout the weekend and then take away from 105 to see how many I can have during the week! Works for me.
I do plan all my meals though - I've just finished my meal plan for the next month (payday to payday) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don't plan my syns though that varies day to day but definitely real butter when I have bread!

I plan week by week or a few days at a time depending on what I've got in - then I only have to buy the extra's I need to make full meals.0
