Usual weekend naughties here but back on the SW wagon today instead of waiting till Monday :A
Made a big pot of the carrot & coriander soup from this month's mag for lunches this week. I used curry powder instead of corriander (sp?) and tastes fab
I bought 'Family Feasts on a Budget' book at group on Friday, would def recommend it. I so often buy recipe books only to find there's nothing in them I want to cook but this one is great, I think maybe only 2 or 3 in the whole book that I wouldn't try. Hubby made the chicken chasseur tonight - it was delish0 -
Had a great weekend, but I went way over my wine syns on Saturday evening (which was probably why I had such a good time!)
The SUnday lunch we had today was huge, but I had a lot of veg, and nice lean meat so very SW. I allowed myself gravy at 2 syns (if1 syn is about 20 calories).
I also had some custard - any idea of the syns in ambrosia tinned custard?Trying to keep in budget.

Weirdly, considering the cans are 400g:
The Devon custard is 6.5 syns for a 134g portion but the Low Fat is also 6.5 syns for a 135g portion!!! I suppose that's the nearest they can get to a third of a can, and virtually no difference between low fat and the other stuff. :rotfl:0 -
Just been planning my week - think I can do it without any major shopping as I'm trying to run the freezers down - just got to be careful with the syns, as not everything will be very SW friendly. Brekkies & lunches will be of course
I love the family feasts book - got it here next to me to look through. Did the Gammon, courgette & wedges the other night - was YUM! Looking forward to trying a few other things as I feel a bit stuck in a rut at the moment. Must get the magazines back out too.
Gien - was it low fat or flavoured or normal? I'll check syns for you

The syn app says 100g of the full fat Devon custard is 5syns
And 100g of the low fat Devon custard is 4.5 syns
That's from the 1kg carton one.
Get the app its great for checking?Started sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

Just trying the new Muller Light Turkish Delight - I'm not a great fan of muller's as they are too watery, but this is quite nice, free & a HUGE sugar hit! God, its sweet :rotfl:0 -
