Tie - how about a stew or a scouse or something that seems to last for ages but takes very little effort one day? I made a pan of scouse last week and it lasted ages or jacket spuds done in the microwave? T
Sorry its all falling on you to do food for your mum
*hugs*
Beanie did you have fun though coz that's all that ultimately matters
Thanks Nessie think ill continue to avoid it
Syns - it's Sunday my wi week runs Monday- Monday and I've added up my syns I have 47.5 left this weekbut actually don't want to abuse them and eat badly
Have a seaside fish and chips tea planned for tomorrow so will have to take some fruit with me to scoff before dinnerluckily I have a human vacuum who's always willing to eat my food
Just checking - pickled onions and pickled beetroot are they free or super free? (I've been classing as super free my friend reckons free)
Happy Sunday all

I've been lurking on this thread for four months now and hope joining you all will give me that extra push to get back into SW mode
What took you so long!! Welcome:)Had a lazy Saturday here - I'm starting to hate having to syn tomato sauce n spread lol it's a pain I want my syns for like freddos lol
Wi on Monday so need a good day tomorrow
Does anyone's consultant have a different line towards syns than there urs use them? Mines said save them up use em etc but I'm not sure what's the best approach to using them? Or how many I should have? Like is using 15 every day the best way to lose more? I like to be well under 10 after dinner so I can have a treat and a brew later on if I want one? But I can do whole days using none?
I work on saving up. After WI I have a 'bank' of 105 syns and subtract from that through the week. I think the advice about having less is because it gives a buffer if you over estimate on syns. It's easy if you're using them for, say, chocolate bars or bags of crisps when you know the exact syns but much easier to stray when measuring out tablespoons of stuff.
I know how you feel about 'wasting' syns. For sauce I just put a squirt on the plate (1 syn?) and try not to use it all. When I was getting to target I only had Worcestershire sauce or tabasco. I've virtually given up having spread or butter. If I have beans on toast or any sort of 'wet' sandwich then I don't think it tastes any different with or without. If I'm having boiled eggs I have plain, dry toast. I've got used to it and I find it makes me nibble at it slowly rather than swallow it in seconds.
Party went better than expected last night. I volunteered to drive :Aas we weren't staying over. The buffet was as anticipated but I did find some healthy options. Plenty of cucumber and carrot batons, chicken (with skin:() and a pasta salad that weirdly they seemed not to have put any dressing on so just pasta and tuna?? I did have a couple of prawn vol au vents and a small piece of birthday cake but could have been a lot worse. Drank fizzy water all night, loads of Body Magic dancing but had a small glass of wine when I got home.
OK, that was yesterday. Today, I'm having a very low syn day as hadn't planned a roast as uncertain of arrangements.
EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shreddies, HEA milk, raspberries
L: HM soup and a bananafish, broccoli, green beans, new potatoes
Syns: weekend wine:)
The fish is Asda frozen sweet chilli cod fillets which someone recommended at group at half a syn each. Hope they're OK.
P.S. Just noticed online that Asda's yummy hot chilli sauce is only half a syn per tsp.:D

Another use for scan bran - cheese on toast!
The scan bran remains crispy (softer where the Worcestershire soaks in!) & cheese is all melty - soooooooo much better than eggs for breakfast!0 -
Is a saddo I use a measuring spoon to measure out sauces etc
I know I'd be like squueeeeeeeeeeeeeeze that's one syn
I have a problem in that I've just prepared the veg for tonight's dinner and I'm now starvingpoo damn boring lazy Sundays
This week I'm bricking myself about tomorrow's weigh inStarted sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

Thanks Nessie, will try the scan bran cheese on toast
, I was going to buy some to make the scan bran chocs, I actually quite like scan bran.
I have made the carbonara with quark for tea, it looks a bit cottage cheesy though, but tastes really nice! Think it wouldn't seperate if it was cooked less so will try to do than next time.
I treated myself to some Mikado chocolate sticks as I think they are only half a syn each and are really nice dunked in a hot cuppa or hot chocolate- the thought of them will keep me going whilst I get through my huge pile of ironing!
Had a good weekend as went bowling and for a meal but then came out of shops to a flat tyre! never mind, that's life!
Speak soon x0 -
This week I'm bricking myself about tomorrow's weigh in
Me too Mildredd. I just had a HUGE tea and now I'm worried that I'll weigh heavy in the morning
I've been SOOOO good this week, don't want to jinx it and stuff my face this evening, but I really want to be 13st something. Even 13st 13lb. 13st 13.5lb would even do. Who am I kidding? I won't be happy if I'm 13st 7lb and that's not gonna happen
Oooo if only I was 10st 12lb:(
Bummer about the tyre Thrifty. I've got quite a few spare if you're interested?Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
