  • Hi All!
For take it easy- I have made the scan bran chocs when I first did slimming world about 5 yrs ago, I really liked them, mixed them with some choc spread and put them in ice trays in the fridge I think they were half a syn each? They certainly got things moving too!
I was good a Maccy D's just had one of my son's chicken selects (4 syns) and a diet coke although it tasted so sweet got suspicious they gave me full fat coke.
At pub started well with steak without any sauce, jacket without butter and veggies but then I just had to help out with the sharing dessert- giant rocky road cookie dough with ice cream (probably had about 15 syns worth  )
Never mind! I will try harder tomorrow!
  • Hi ladies (and gent?), may I join you please?!

I joined slimming world at the end of June and have (slowly!) lost 16lbs. I have 8lbs to lose to get to target but have been feeling a bit 'meh' about it all recently and really need to get motivated again.

I weighed in yesterday after skipping a week and sts. I'm going back to my home town 4 weeks today to visit family and would love to be at target (or v close to) by then.

I've been lurking on this thread for four months now and hope joining you all will give me that extra push to get back into SW mode :)
  • Welcome MsNigella :)!
(are you the real Nigella?) if so stop looking so gorgeous whilst you are raiding the fridge at midnight! It's not fair on the rest of us!!
Seriously, I think that last half stone or so is always the hardest to lose! I am sure you will find inspiration and support here and you will reach you goal before you know it :)
  • Not THE Nigella - I wish! (though prob not as much as OH wishes haha)

Fear I look slightly more 'pig at trough' when fridge raiding :/

How much are they at group then? When I bought some in H&B couple weeks ago they were £1.99 today online they were on offer at £1.55 that's why I had a brain flush and bought them :rotfl:

They are £1.20 so for your £20 you could have got 16/17 packs!

Worth bearing in mind when you run out (pun intended!) :rotfl:
  • Evening losers ;)

Do I as a relatively new sw member want to ask about scan bran?

Had a lazy Saturday here - I'm starting to hate having to syn tomato sauce n spread lol it's a pain I want my syns for like freddos lol

Wi on Monday so need a good day tomorrow

Does anyone's consultant have a different line towards syns than there urs use them? Mines said save them up use em etc but I'm not sure what's the best approach to using them? Or how many I should have? Like is using 15 every day the best way to lose more? I like to be well under 10 after dinner so I can have a treat and a brew later on if I want one? But I can do whole days using none?

Crust less quiche is quite nice
Next meal to try is sticky chicken I think tomorrow night
Started sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

New Year New You Challenge - /6lb

As a nearly new member it's prob best not to go down the scan bran route just yet :rotfl:

It's up to you what you do with your syns I save mine for the evening when I can & always tried to have my 15 - it's better to start with more so that when you reach closer to target you can reduce slightly to get to target

Some people save syns up for weekends or special meals but it all depends on what works for you

It doesn't matter if you don't have any syns one day but they are there so you don't feel like you are on a diet!

Scan bran is the marmite of the crisp bread world, you either like it (haven't met anyone who LOVES it) or hate it. I don't mind the taste but the texture is the problem for me and the fact you pick it out your teeth for the rest of the day :rotfl:

Struggling with life at the moment, between work and running back and forth to my mum food is more a grab what I can job. So a few too any takeaways have been happening which explains the gain of 1.8lb this week. This week is full on too as my sister is on lates so I have to get mums tea every night but I also have an evening meeting on Tuesday and working til 5pm on Thursday so fitting healthy food in May be a problem. Oh well life WILL get better soon :o. I can always live on scan bran when it arrives
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
