"Don't touch the brown stuff" :rotfl: Think this programme's going to be good!

Step away from the biscuits, doughnuts, batter, crisps, chips (unless SW!), sausages, pastry, chocolate. Quite true actually!

I need a hand with something. On Saturday I'm going to be out from 6am until 1am the next morning at least now we have food available but obviously it's not anything healthy so I'm thinking of taking some fruit and maybe a salad or something? I'll have access to a fridge luckily.

So any suggestions of what I can have? Not really got access to a cooker only a frying pan and griddle

I know I sound vague I do pyrotechnics at the weekends and this weekend we have a competition on so all hands to the deck.

You could take lots of fruit, cooked cold meats, a salad bowl (add in some pre-cooked lean grilled chicken breast or similar & pickles etc), BLT sandwich, Alpen Light bars & Babybel lights?

A griddle & frying pan makes for a good 'cooked breakfast' style dinner if you want to/get time? Egg, mushrooms, bacon, tomato & Linda McCartney's Red Onion sausages - all done in Frylight if you take it with you. If you have access to hot water/kettle you could take some of the free Mugshot sachets or instant noodles (just let them soak in the hot water). I'd love to do pyrotechnics!! Enjoy

I was thinking something like fruit, peaches, grapes, strawberries, bananas. Not keen on apples at they hurt my gums.

Salad wise I was thinking some sort of premade salad pot with tuna or chicken in.

I will have access to hot water so could have some noodles or something like that.

I love the pyrotechnics but it sheer hard work a lot of heavy lifting. My toe nails are black from the last comp in the middle of July but we won :)

Do you do it as a job Steph, or a hobby? Are the comps open to the public? Would be amazing to see one! :) xx

I do it as a hobby every weekend :) yes the comps are open to the public it's a text voting so the public decide. The one this weekend is in Cheshire if you are local come down you can pay on the gate it's at Capesthorne Hall near Macclesfield.

It's 3 teams going head to head on who is the best they are all ten minute displays each all choreographed to music. The text voting line will then open when the last team has finished then the organiser of the competition will have a ten minute display while votes are being cast at the end of that there is the announcement of who has won the trophy.

Next week there is a competition in Herefordshire at Eastnor Castle if that is closer to you http://www.fireworkchampions.co.uk/

I can show you our last competition display if you like?

I'll highlight my suggestions for tomorrow Steph

Thanks for all the help ladies.

    Tomorrow for breakfast I'm thinking

B -2 wholemeal toast with heinz sugar and salt free baked beans
You need some SF. It doesn't have to be at breakfast time. You could have some fruit mid-morning
L - Wholemeal bread with tuna in brine & mixed fruit pot (melon, grapes, pineapple)
as Denise said about the bread. If it's a favourite, then syn it. If not then have a jacket potato with the tuna instead.
T - Chicken curry with boiled rice.
same as I said about the curry today. Unless it's homemade SW style it will have syns. And you must have SFs with it, so fruit afterwards.

I'll be having skimmed milk in my tea. I've got weigh in tomorrow :(

    Steph xx

Even with the extra bread and a bought in ready meal curry you'll probably still be OK for syns. You really must up your SFs. I think (along with planning) it's one of the most important things about SW.

I will get looking through my book at the superfree food and stock up on them.

It would be easier if they had them on the website but couldn't find them

    Steph xx

The website isn't up to much but SFs are there. If you go to the food diary (SW tools), then free food, then vegetables or fruit. The very few that are just free (sweetcorn, parsnips etc) are highlighted.

When you say premade salad pot, do you mean premade by you? There aren't many you can buy in that don't have loads of oil or mayo or other syns already in. My favourite is Pret a Manger Salad Nicoise which comes with a separate pot of dressing so I just add a tiny drizzle. If I make my own, I generally cook pasta and then stir something in. My favourite is to do a tray of roasted vegetables with frylight (courgettes, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic) and stir that into the cooked pasta. It's yummy and travels well in a Tupperware type box. This week I've been loving the frittata/Spanish omelette I made. It's lovely cold and you could graze on a whole one through the day for snacking. I fried up an onion, red pepper (always soften 2 mins in the microwave first), diced cooked potatoes, mushrooms, a chopped tomato. Pour in 3/4 beaten, seasoned eggs and cook as for an omelette. I put on some grated cheese before finishing under the grill. Slide onto a plate and enjoy!!

I watched the programme. Quite interesting and seriously done. A lot of emphasis on the emotional side of eating. I loved some of the music they'd chosen. My group does meet in a church hall but we've not resorted to this yet.

P.S. tie, hope it was a half syn sausage!
