We're trying to get pregnant too - I see you on the Trying Thread tea & cake. My DD took 7 months to conceive - this time we've been going 11 months & my cycles are just getting longer & longer.
I'm not really sure why I overeat except as a reward, to cheer myself up, when I'm bored, lonely or worried! My Mom has always been harshly & brutally critical of my weight & my eating, I think even before I was overweight! Guess she can't understand seeing as she's never been over 9 stone.0 -

I'm going to give it until after week 5 (the 'rest' week) to see if the numbers start coming down. I'm not eating loads more than usual- exercise makes my appetite hit the floor but the scales are not being nice at all. Since starting it I've gained 2 pounds. I *HAVE* to lose at least 8 pounds (and ideally a little bit extra to account for different scales) before I can start IVF, which will hopefully be in the next two months, so even though I'm seeing differences in my measurements and am toning up it's not good enough for the clinic as I have to be BMI 29 or less. It's so frustrating. I want to get fit and healthy and love the insanity exercises as I see the differences and they keep me motivated (mainly by ogling Shaun T and hating Tanya the machine...
) I also want to do this so *if* I ever do get pregnant my body is healthy. I've tried so many other exercise routines/ classes/ sports etc but they just bore me. Dilemma! :rotfl:
Thanks for the good wishes frogga. My reasons for gaining weight don't have any more validity than yours though. Weight problems are hideous- regardless of what has brought them about.
If it's for your BMI to be under a certain amount for IVF maybe you should hang off with Insanity which would be such a shame...as you said yourself you know it'll get you healthy. They tell you to the throw away the scales and focus on size and health and yet the so called professionals are putting pressure on you to be a specific weight, it's not fair. I honestly don't know what would be for the best for you as obviously IVF is your priority
I'm not sure if you're on facebook but here's a link to Shaun T's page - he updates it all the time (or one of his shauntourage does, lol).

As for Tanya, she did my head in and apparently annoys a lot of folk as well with all her pouting....grrrrr! I've since read a bit about her and actually like her now that I'm not watching her pout her way throughout the workout. She's had a baby since filming insanity and then did some of Shaun T's other workouts...should see her now! Makes her look 'big' in Insanity...here's one of her pages (complete with full on 6 pack!)0 -

Wishing you both lots of luck with conceiving. I had similar in that I was about to start fertility treatment but finally fell pg after 9mths of trying with number 1. Can remember how much it kinda took over with predicting ovulating etc so I hope everything works out for you. Such a pressure to have to think about weight at the same time though0 -

Totally going on a Shaun T rant here, sorry...but had to say, I did ogle him as well but he married his long term partner Scott last year so I'm out the running - looks like I was never in it in the first place, lol....:rotfl:0 -
Can you tell I'm on my laptop tonight and not my phone (nightmare to use to read posts & reply). Just wanted to say thanks for the comments about my food...I might start updating you with my menu's (mugshot followed by mugshot followed by curly wurly probably). Might even post a few pics...we'll see. Bed time now before I dip into the nutella, it's calling my name (!) x0

Now I quite like Tania- why have you done that to me?!? Lol. I'll have to get T25 to watch her struggle and make me feel better about being a sweaty, terrible mess! I've been thinking about T25... maybe after insanity. I just don't know what's best to aim for- healthy diet, very slow weight loss and fit body (&mind) or just aim for what the medics want- a lower weight. Gah. I think I will lose weight with insanity eventually...0

Morning Campers Hi De Hi :j
I was thinking last night of another trick I've used in the past that has helped well....
I like to 'be good' along side a TV series. Let me explain. I'd see that a new series of such and such was starting, and it was going to be on for 6 weeks, and then I'd tell myself I only had to 'be good' for the duration of the series. If it's one you like, it's amazing how quickly each episode comes round again, and then you can 'tick off another week'.
The Great British Bake Off starts on Tuesday. I love that programme, and it will be on for about 10 weeks I expect. It will shock you how quickly tuesdays come around, and one by one they eliminate the contestants, and before you know it, it's way into Autumn and weeks have passed. Also, Downton Abbey is being repeated on ITV3 every evening at tea time starting on monday. They are starting at the beginning and going through the whole 3 series, one episode every day. It will really help me to get through the days and weeks if I'm good along side the episodes.
I hope you understand what I'm on about by all of that? It's an odd thing to do, but all I can say is it really helped me before. I've lost loads with this method as you just have to get to the next episode. I know I know I'm a bit odd
Have a good day humansSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
