I start Slimming World on Thursday, I was going the gym a few months ago until I broke my foot I've not been able to go back since as I'm still experiencing some pain in my foot and have my first physio session tomorrow
Is there any tips you can give me with Slimming world?
TIA

Mr O welcome back and well done that is incredible:T
And the cycle ride I'm tired just thinking about it:rotfl:
Anyway I had my weigh in and I am absolutely over the moon as I maintained :j
As you know I weighed myself after the dinner with friends on Saturday and had put on 4/5 pounds
I appreciate that I have been really really good for the last 2.5 days but I am certain that whats made a big contribution is the organic dandelion tea
I said it in class tonight and some others are getting some
It's purely my opinion but I know it works for me it's a natural diuretic and I think after a bad day/water retention time it's well worth a punt
Have a lovely evening everyone
I am now on a serious mission to lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks before my holidays

EE today.
B: Lie in so no food. Am a lazy mare...
S: Nope
L: Pasta, HM passata based sauce with veg, herbs and spices and grilled chicken.
S: 12.5g dark chocolate (3.25 syns)
T: 'Chicken Milano' (stolen from a pub lunch menu but made sw friendly)- garlic potatoes, leftover passata veggie sauce, grilled chicken, 8 olives (1 syn) Mozzarella (HEA and 3.5 syns), 1 slice extra lean bacon
P: Strawberries, 0% fat yoghurt and one amaretti biscuit (1.5 syns)
Syns total: 9.25 syns
Exercise: Insanity plyometric cardio circuit (45 mins)
Do you get extra syns for working out? We exercise for about 45 mins a day, 6 days a week... My OH wants to know as he is a syn monster!
Off to check out a girl called jack blog. Well done to the losses!0 -
No extra syns for working out, lol, but we'd all like it if there were - kind of defeats the point though

Thanks for the welcome!
Hi all,
I'm not able to get online much so trying to read everyone's hints & tips but my brain is mush tonight. teaandcakeordeath, just wanted to say that I did the full 60 day insanity workout last Oct (stupidly without dieting at all) and although there wasn't a huge weight loss there was definitely a lot of toning. I wouldn't worry so much about the scales and focus on your measurements, particularly when doing something as intensive as Insanity. There's lots of information online advising you to ignore the scales when doing it...to do with all the muscle you're building. It's a brilliant workout and I'm hoping to give it another go now I'm trying to eat healthily also - Shaun T rocks!
Going to try reading through the posts when I'm not so busy in work instead of logging on at night.
Quick question while I rememberv - how do I check syn values without going to classes. Trying to cut back financially so really hoping to avoid joining...I normally only went to get weighed anyway as I'm a single mum of 2 so didn't like taking kids along. I'm only on week 2 and lost 2lbs last week but I'm not so sure some of the own brand items I'm buying are free :-/
Wishing you all a good week on SW

SO I went to Aldi yesterday and I'm not entirly convinced
I shall list what I bought ~
Corn on Cob 69p (Sainsburys £1)
baked beans x4 £1.24 (I normally get heinz £2.50)
banana 68p (Sainsbugs £1.25)
cucu 49p
Celery 49p (sainsbugs 89p)
cabbage 69p
diet coke 49p (sainsbugs economy 17p)
cauli 89p (sainsbugs 99p)
radishes 49p (sainsbugs 69p)
peaches 69p (sainsbugs £1)
broc 59p (Sainsbugs £1)
Choc bar 69p (sainsbugs £1)
Cherry Bakewells 75p (Sainsbugs £1)
white loaf 55p (could be anything between £1~£1.50)
choc eclairs 27p (sainsbugs £1)
toffees 23p (sainsbugs £1)
So I agree much cheaper than Sainsbugs at first glance. Somethings were definately cheaper; Corn on the cob, broc and cauli etc. Some things were a real bargin, like the 2 bags of sweets for 25p (not for me!) However, some things appeared cheaper but they were in much smaller bags. The raspberries and radishes for example, far fewer than in a punnet or bag at Sainsbugs. I looked at the cereal, although I didn't buy any, and it was in much smaller boxes.
I'm not sure if their own brands like the baked beans will be nice, I haven't tried them yet, but they weren't cheaper than Sainbugs economy range. I agree 49p for a bottle of coke is cheaper than Coca Cola, but not cheaper than economy cola which I'll happily drink. The white loaf is nothing special. A bit cheap and nasty like economy bread in sainbugs not as nice as Hovis or Kingsmill (I haven't tasted by the way, just doing Mr Frog's lunch!).
It was very very busy, and felt a bit like a market. The man at the checkout rushed through so quickly I had to move to the side to pack my bags, which I had to pay for! It was quite stressful and not a very nice experience, and I honestly don't think it was comparing like for like. The quality and value I felt is better in Sainsbugs.
Would be very interested to hear what everyone else thinks  but on reflection, as a creature of habit, it's not for me I don't think. Oh, and I couldn't use the credit card, and I like to save my Nectar pointsSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
