What do we all eat for free snacks?
I keep on buying Freddo's and low syn crisps but end up getting through the pack very fast! So I'm not doing it anymore.
What do you keep in the house that's free for when you've got the munchies?
I can think of pickles, chicken slices (trying to avoid processed meats though), fruit (which sometimes just doesn't tick the box lol):rotfl:, muller lights ?.......................
What else? There must be some yummy free snacks that I am missing out on?:mad:0 -

Feeling very frustrated at the moment. Monday's weigh, I was only 1/2 pound away from target and been following the plan 100%. I got a very unexpected 1.5 gain! So now I am, again, 2 pounds away from target.
Already had a celebratory meal planned with friends on Tuesday so that went ahead, 100 plus syns later!! Its my 3 year anniversary on Friday, so OH has booked the day off to treat me, taking me to a lovely french bistro. I really want to enjoy it but I cannot face a back to back gain, especially being so close to target!!
Right, rant over. Here's what steps I am trying to put in place to maybe scrape a maintain:
-Found a list of all the Super Speed foods and I have planned my meals using only these, lots of fish I think!
-Travelling to London on Thursday so bought pre-made fruit pots to take with me for the train. Know that I going to get some carrot sticks and other raw veggies for my lunch there.
-Step up on the exercise front, if I can get 3 hours in this week I will be happy.
Finally, think I am just going to enjoy Friday, my OH deserves it too!!
Sorry for the rant!!:eek:0 -
Tough luck peej, but you'll get there.:) Go and enjoy your anniversary and then battle on!
For free snacks I enjoy cold new potatoes. I often cook extra on purpose and plan to fry them but I find they disappear!
Another favourite is a FF cottage cheese. I put a couple of tbsps. in a bowl and mix with a chopped apple, eat with a spoon, good and filling.
If you can be bothered to prepare, having a SW quiche or frittata in the fridge is good as is Batchelors savoury rice with any salad veg chopped in.0 -
I often keep syn free humous in the fridge and then dip carrot sticks and salad bits in it or have it spread on HEB of Ryvita.
Agree with Maman SW quiche or frittata is also useful to keep in fridge. I usually do one which only has veggies in it so that it can be used on any day, rather than one that has bacon, chicken etc in it which can only be used on Red or EE days.
If I'm having a Red or EE day I often snack on crabsticks as have these in the fridge if I've got a "fishy" day planned during the week.

I always keep a couple of hard boiled eggs in the fridge. Not very exciting but free and they're filling.0 -
keeping meaning to make the syn free houmous on the SW site..
1 red pepper, deseeded and sliced
Low calorie cooking spray
400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
20-50ml water
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
1. Place the sliced red pepper on a baking tray sprayed with low calorie cooking spray and roast until softened.
2. Once the pepper is cooked and cooled, place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend, adding more water if necessary to create a smooth paste.
3. Add salt to taste and serve with chopped up carrot batons or any of your favourite Free vegetable sticks!
I'd probably add chilli, lots of0
