I agree with you on this It alway says that on salad cream mayo jams everything and unless it walks out of the fridge into the bin I think it's grand

Having said that I'm a bit funny about fish but most jar things I never find. Problem with I can honestly say that on the fridge we have large mango chutney from costco that is 9 months old and it tastes fine and pickle and piccalilli and wouldn't dream of firing them out

I know friends of mine that throw ANYThing passed its sell by date even yogurt and I said but yogurt is milk with bacteria made no difference

OH always says big difference between best before and use by dates more careful with use by

It seems crazy to me that things that, by definition, are pickles or preserves or conserves are allegedly going to go off in a couple of days! Same with dry stuff, as long as it's kept dry. I'm a great believer in suck it (or sniff it) and see.

I've been bad tonight:(. Change of plan on my meal as DD went to PYO and brought back loads of runner beans and strawberries. Had ham, new pots and huge portion of runner beans for supper. Mmm:drool: Then had crisps and chocolate..... I wasn't hungry, it was just because I could.

    Morning Folks :j

I'm going to have two more days of totally sticking to SW, but probably eating too much. Then on Monday, the start of Week 4 of my Summer Holiday Challenge, I'm going to really 'up my game'.

I shall cut down on the fruit, I do eat exessive amounts :o and stick to porridge or Albran for breakfast instead of the huge cooked breakfast I've been having. I'll save those for the weekend I think.

I'm also going to do more walks, quicker, not the slow hopping along that I have been doing, I shall really walk with a purpose and try to get a bit puffed. And I'm getting back on the bike with a regular 6 mile ride everyday. Once back at work in September I've got to do 5 miles there and 5 miles home so I need to get used to it ;) Maybe I should do 6 miles in the morning, and 6 in the evening? I'll see.

I do feel very pleased with how well the first half of the Challenge has gone. It could have been very different. I could have been 'eating' (my code for stuffing my face) and I could have put on over a stone in these last 3 weeks. I would not be able to get any of my clothes on. I would have to go to the shops and get some 'tents' to cover myself up with. Then, once back to work in September, I'd think 'sod it, it's nearly Christmas, I'll start again in January'. Then by January I'd be easily another 3 stone heavier :o You may chuckle, but I have actually done all of that more times than I care to mention.

This year it will be different. This year it is different.

Have a good weekend people :D

Frogga you will do it with that mindset and outlook and the fact you have a plan you already half way there

Your days are so planned so structured the way you do it all with dog walks cycling planned meals you are definitely onto a winner

Also if you do come off the wagon we will all encourage you back on it he same way you would do for everyone else :-)

Also upping the output exercise wise makes a big difference too If you are burning the calories then the pounds just have to come off and the metabolism goes up and they say it increases the endorphins but I have never fallen in love enough with exercise to get endorphins ;-)

That's funny because even though I'm totally puffed after the cycling, I'm really happy? :D It does give me a 'buzz' !

Thanks for the support Magic. It really does help

How to make crispy slimming world syn free chips in the Air Fryer

    Ingredients:

    4 medium potatoes

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

6 sprays of 1 cal cooking spray

    Salt & pepper for seasoning

    Method:

To make the best Slimming World chips with your Airfryer you need to firstly peel four medium potatoes.

Then chop them up into nice sized chips.

Turn on your Airfryer for 20 minutes and place them in the Airfryer tray. Then add your one tablespoon of olive oil. Alternatively if you are just using fat free spray we recommend 6 sprays for the best tasting chips.

Then place the Airfryer on and cook for 20 minutes.

During the cooking process you need to shake the chips twice. Once at six minutes and again at 12 minutes so that they cook evenly. Also use this opportunity to squirt three sprays of the 1 cal spray on the top and continue to cook.

This will then help with the crispness and keep them nice and tasty.

If you don’t shake them they don’t cook evenly and you end up with some hard chips.

Once they are cooked season them with some salt and pepper and serve.

There is a big difference in the taste between using the extra virgin olive oil and not using it. It reminds me when I use the oil of the taste of chip shop chips. And then you sit there eating in silence because they are too nice to talk when eating!

So there you have it – you have proper tasty Slimming World chips and as you can make them with either extra virgin olive oil and use your healthy extra or syn free with fat free spray you could have a portion each day and STILL lose weight and STILL be following the Slimming World diet.

I prefer to have mine with a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and fat free spray and one tablespoon of olive oil is enough for three portions. So if you are a family of three like us you are only actually using a third of your healthy extra on your chips. So you could have three portions and still be using one healthy extras allowance.
