FWIW You can get £20 cash back on the Iconia tablet on Amazon , if you are quick. Probably works if you buy elsewhere.

all sounds abit complicated at the moment, but once i get the tablet and start to do it i'm sure it's simple enough.

What's complicated about plugging it into a computer and copying files?

What's complicated in interpreting a question properly.. The OP is referring to how to get a physical CD, or a physical DVD, into a form that can be loaded onto the tablet

    i.e. how to rip stuff

You must be psychic then. Or inferring a question. OP doesn't say ANYTHING about file formats. ;)

(I'm not saying you're wrong, but don't go throwing accusations and insults without evidence).

My job is about figuring out what customers need before they do.. the OP said:
"any suggestions on software to load movies and music onto the tablet."

Now, anyone who could figure out how to rip music and movies will most likely be technically capable, and able to figure out how to drag and drop a file onto a tablet over USB

The OP doesn't have to say anything about file formats since they are unlikely to know what they are. They just want film/music content on their device
