The Michael Powell Christmas design was in World of Cross Stitching last year (issue 196) to be precise. If you google the mag on e-&ay then you will see what the cover was like - the MP design is in the top left hand corner.
If you also google cross stitch cafe and money saving expert, (and pick the stitching out of 2012, into 2013 thread) then you will find reviews of the mag too ! (might be best to google the magazine issue to narrow down results). it was about this time last year the mag arrived on our doormats/if not early october.0 -

Morning all - long time since I visited here so tea and choccy cake all round!! Can anyone help me please - I seem to remember that not too long ago one of the mags featured a lovely Christmas/snow design that was just white thread on pale blue (May have been a historical sampler company design) but I can't find it. Does anyone know which mag or if they have a copy at all.

Just got back home last night after a couple of lovely days up in Edingburgh. Stopped at Berwick on the way up and found a lovely little craft shop called Serendipity - had lots of stuff by different crafters at quite reasonable prices. I bought some lovely porcelain heart shaped buttons. On the way back down we called off at Seahouses, which was absolutely lovely and lo and behold I found another little craft shop. Bought more buttons - might add some of these to the Lets Do Wine cushion and I also bought some labels (like the ones you stitch onto school uniforms) which said something like 'stitched with love'. Hubby finds it quite amusing that I'm thinking of stitching one of these onto the cushion as he remembers me getting very frustrated whilst stitching it.

I visited both these places on holiday about 15 years and want to go back. Had the best fish and chips in Seahouses after a day exploring Bamburgh Castle ( which had a cross stitch of itself in the ticket office)And only 50p as well! I love these too and they are such good value.
Been AWOL for the fortnight as went to Zante for a week and then went straight into hospital for a week for my reconstruction.
Came home exhausted on Monday so yesterday I finished two WIP' s. The birth sampler for GS1 and the Journey for DD. Photos to follow after framing.
Will look through my stash later and find next project as I will be off work for at least six weeksCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -

We love this part of the country (embarrassed to say we have only just 'discovered' it and we don't live that far away really. We took advantage this time of breaking the journey on the way up to Edinburgh and the weather was beautiful. I will confirm that the fish and chips in Seahouses are still top notch. We went to the one visited by the Hairy Bikers. It would have been rude not to have tried them. Next time, probably 2014 now, we intend to stop off at Alnwick and Amble.
Good luck with your recovery. Hope all goes well for you. Look forward to seeing all the stitching you will manage over the next six weeks.
Take care everyone
