  • Hi Ladies, I have had a clear out today and have a couple of charts I no longer want (never been stitched and changed my mind about them now). I have a Winnie the Pooh 'Bump, Bump, Bump' chart, a small book containing charts for Nemo, Sheldon, Pearl and Tad, a tatty teddy free chart with him holding a heart shaped balloon, a free Geisha chart that must have come from a recent magazine and a Lavender and Lace 'Gift of Peace' chart.

If any of these are of use to you, pm me and I will gladly send them to you. I have tried to upload them to Flickr but it seems to be playing up, I will keep trying and update this with pictures when I have them.

    Hello Everyone

Another finish for Sandy Hook - a teddy. It is for one of the wee girls who shared the same birthday as me - it just touched my heart and its the only one I am doing for the children - next the one I am doing for the hospital - its an adapted pattern - seen a design I liked but couldn't afforded the pattern, so using a free pattern and patting it like the one I couldn't afford.

    Hope all are well

    sweetcarer ;)

    Hello everyone,

I am going on holiday shortly and wondered if I will be allowed to carry my cross stitch (with needle) in the hand luggage?

    Thank you all

    Susanna
  • Well I go missing for a few days and what a lot I've missed .....

But in between Chicky's difficulties which I am pleased to read should now be in the past and the liquorice con........there are some lovely updates and some great tales

MOS Sorry but leaving the bobbins behind - you have to either laugh or cry and I chose laughter

jcs Your rose variations are stunning - thank you for posting the photos.
And I loved looking through your Flickr album. I love looking at anyone's needlework but we have similar tastes so lots of your pieces were particularly appealing. I've got the Shakespeare's Birthplace on my wall and the Spanish lady with the red fan is one of my UFOs which I must finish one day; I stitched the teddy with the football rattle as a birth sampler years ago and I've also stitched the Shropshire version of your Staffordshire map; love the Elegance lady - I've stitched a couple of these but not the one you have done; I recognise the WtP initial design and have stitched W and Z in the same range; Dressmaker's Daughter is top of my wish list.
Haven't got anything to compare with the cute kittens though.
But I am absolutely blown away by your series of blackwork ladies. If anyone hasn't yet had a look you must do so now :D

FE Thanks for sharing your xs foibles - makes me feel less foolish about the matching scissors. And at least I'm not alike a friend of mine who selects matching pegs when hanging out the washing

shelly washing your hands is sensible - my fetish of matching scissors can hardly be called that :D

Ailsb the photos were worth waiting for - all of them fabulous in their own way and so very different

bobbismummy Well done on framing the Noah's Ark piece

mrsmp sorry to hear about the attack of shingles - very unpleasant (said from experience but thankfully have only had one bout). You have great patience to do that garden bench piece - hope it will be appreciated
Great progress on Titanic; Tinkerbell looks gorgeous

sweetcarer Your teddy is beautiful and you are a star for doing so much. Is the pattern one of the many free ones you seem to be able to track down?

I think it will be best to check with the airline. A few years ago scissors were banned and people were buying these instead http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Vintage-DMC-Thread-Cutter-Pendant__DMC-6120-fslsh-3.aspx

    And have a good holiday
