    Evening all xx

Sorry I've not posted in a week or so, I've been shattered and falling asleep almost as soon as I've sat down recently! So I haven't much sewing to update with: I'll try and get a pic tomorrow.

I'm multitasking just now: got a christening to go to tomorrow so have just ironed my daughters dress, and am now catching up on here, painting my nails and having a sneaky white wine spritzer in between :p

Have narrowed down a selection of pictures I want to make for my sister who is due a baby at the end of the year: instead of going modern, we've decided to flip it around and go traditional and muted colours! We both love the Historical Sampler range, and we've decided that I'll pick my favourites, and my sister has the final decision on which one she wants :) my favourite so far is this one:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Animal-Patchwork-Sampler-Cross-Stitch/dp/B00AQGFW8I/ref=sr_1_58?
    s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1372535984&sr=1-
    58&keywords=Historical+Sampler

I love the 'A is for Ark' but I need to post it so that's just a bit too big!

    Hope you're all well xx

Hello all. Amazing cross stitching here!!

Squishy - I really like that historical sampler. Want to do one for my sisters baby due in August but that looks too complicated for me.

I would love some advice please. I want to do a cross stitch for my sisters birthday in September. Has someone come across a kit with a 'sisterly' theme. I wanted one with with a character of some sort but so far I haven't seen one I like. Would love any ideas.

In the meantime I'll just scour the rest of these pages in hope of some inspiration so thanks to all the posters :)

squishy that sampler is really unique. enjoy the christening.

maisie m - we need picture updates :) giving it and taking back sounds a fab idea.

grrrrrr mrs m it's soo annoying to run out of thread. I know tis an obvious question but you havn't done it in 2 strands instead of 1 or anything have you??? do they have a facebook page?? you should be able to get the company to send more threads (or cover the cost of buying them).
Hope you are starting to feel a bit better.

shelly I love santa. Makes me want to start my christmas project, maybe i will!!!

lol fos love that stitching saying .
ailsb your wedding sampler is different, not seen that before. Did you call DMC?

back to maria's liquiorice condors........... we'd actually just been having a conversation off MSE in which the other thing was mentioned......so yes I had read it as that too at the time and had to re-read

mrs_t_m I just cannot get into lego star wars (bits of it are ok but it takes too much effort lol) top fav in this house is lego batman and lego batman 2. which actually i'm pretty into. I did get them to let me buy lego harry potter but never have time to play it , might give myself an hour today.

where are you off too flateric anyone nice and hot and sunny??

sc teddy is very cute. MUST remember to get mine to you....adds it to this week to do list.

This isn't a kit or a chart but would be a lovely gift if she does any sort of needlework

Or you could do something like an AOY kit with 2 little girls and add your names?

annoyed with my bench stitch the first two areas ive worked on on the actual picture ive run out of the colour before completing the area, and its blocks so not like im using thread working in and out or confetti stitching, luckily they are dmc threads so i suppose i will have to buy what i need to finish it. its a polly and katie design has anyone else done one of these and found it a problem?
first area i was only 6 crosses short but the second colour im two complete rows of stitches about 5 inches long.
really not good enough for a kit. GRRR

If you have no joy from the company - what colours are you looking for - might have a wee bit in my stash to help you with a wee bit.

Not feeling too great this morning - might go back to bed, was really wanting to get on with some stitching. I get so exhusted these days.

    Keep well everyone

    sweetcarer ;)
:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j
  • shelly Thank you so much for your reply about your update folder. I don't think it is odd at all and makes perfect sense to me

Love your Santa - the colours are just so bright and vibrant - it will look fabulous when you display at Christmas

mrsmp How annoying to run out of thread. Have never heard of polly and katie kits and won't be looking out for them now
Hope you can contact them and get some more thread

MaisieM You have to take advantage of the better weather if you are a gardener. Hope Let's Wine is soon finished and we can see photos

squishy I love the historical sampler range as well

I spent all of yesterday cleaning/sorting and tidying. I have a few bits left to do today but I have yet to get myself motivated to actually crack on and get started. I checked out the tv pages for today/tonight and nothing has jumped out so once I've finished my chores, hopefully I can sit down and catch up with the poirot I recorded the other week.

It is interesting to read the posts about taking needlework on flights. I would hate to think I would be stuck in a metal tube for x number of hours without being able to stitch but as someone else commented, you don't get much room and I know (from stitching on the bus) that if anyone sits next to me, I can't stitch any more. I imagine it would be the same on a plane unless you were lucky and had the row to yourself. I suppose if you took a fairly easy project with few colour changes and you prepped your thread accordingly then you wouldn't really need to take scissors or the thread cutter pendant. I can't really see that they would confiscate needles?

Chicky holiday plans are undecided yet. I've got the leave booked from work, just need to decide what I want to do. but whatever I do decide to do, it must involve cross stitch !! :)

Not having much time for stitching here and after being out all day yesterday have a very long to do list for today which may include a bit of stitching this evening if I'm not too tired.

Here is my ring pillow WiP with matching scissors :rotfl:

Have done a lot of alterations - mainly for August wedding - and was asked about more yesterday.

Am also continuing with my decluttering of the spare room and have hung 4 more stitched pieces but haven't yet taken photos

Hope everyone has a great day preferably with some quality xs time
