  • By the way in case anybody is interested on buysubscriptions.com they have a couple of cross stitch mags (Cross Stitch Crazy and the World of Cross Stitch)in their summer sale - 5 issues for £5

I am such a sucker for these magazines that I have bought 2 of them. Thank you
  • nmm BD looks awesome

luckycat welcome (I don't think I've seen you post before). Love the wedding sampler (is it Historical Sampler Company design?)

winniepooh how exciting to get some stock from the wholesalers. My challenge would be remembering that it is for sale not use by me :D

hippipal Welcome to the cafe. Hope you find lots of lovely kits lurking in your stash just itching to be stitched

mrsceejay well done on finishing the elephants

moments sorry to hear of your troubles and hope that stitching will bring some comfort. I agree with mags that lighting is the key to stitching on dark fabric. Another idea is to position a lamp on the floor pointing up at your fabric so that the holes are clearer. Should look amazing though. I do Christmas projects all year round :D Mag offer was too good to miss

beg good idea about hubby taking the mags - I would have trouble handing any of mine over

ems better late than never and one of the great things about xs is the way it can be picked up and put down at any time (for years if other things get in the way)

    Hi all,

Been busy stitching my Christmas decs :jlove Christmas.
Welcome to the newbies, always good to have newbies and to see your work.

Ive been working lots at my job and then the new business and Im shattered which I have to be careful of with having Bipolar but its all good stress.

I would like to ask you all a favour if you don't mind.
What do you mostly buy from xs websites, is it kits, aida, threads, other essentials. Apart from kits I don't know what else to stock
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!
    JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD

I always look at the accessories available - for unusual ones like wooden coasters, or nicely shaped trinket boxes that you can add a small piece of cross stitch too.

Mainly, I'm looking for charts and good priced fabric.
  • Afternoon all!

Ems - Thank you for the head up, I feel a cheeky little treat coming on!!

How do you all make the xmas decks? I love the sound of that!!
  • Thank you F_O_S, I will try the light technique later this evening and see how I get on.:j

I have made a couple of jars of jam and Apple jelly this afternoon and I feel like I could sleep for a week! Got to pick eldest DD from work experience tomorrow and hoping to have a look around the Raptor Foundation before we leave so going to try and conserve my energy now and just stitch for the whole evening :D

I am so excited about Christmas, it is by far my favourite time of the year, although this xstitch is a nightmare I love seeing how it is coming along.

Have a great evening all, catch up soon.

There are loads of different kits out there to make decorations for your tree - here's some I made a few years ago. There are nine in the kit and they are a bit more work than some others, but I look forward to unpacking them every year!

These are absolutely beautiful, I might have to look to do something similar.

I managed a lot of xstitching last night and didn't want to stop at midnight when DH said I should stop! :rotfl:

Not going to get much done today as I need to pick up our eldest DD, I have been known to Xstitch in the car but only on things that don't take a lot of chart reading :D
