Pleased you enjoyed your trip jamsponge
I can tell you what I've been buying Ruth- some iridescent aida and some missing dmc threads I need for my Christmas cushion
. Haven't got a clue when it will be stitched for - Christmas 2015 (unlikely) Christmas 2016 (maybe) :rotfl:.
Have been fancying buying one of the Lowry-type kits? Must have been looking at them online yesterday and DH pipes up that he had been getting adds for these types of cross-stitch kits. Dawned on me later that we share same Amazon account and it was making suggestions for things for him to purchase - hindsight may not be a bad thing but not much good if I'm looking for his Christmas pressie :rotfl:

Quite restrained. ;-)
It's fun to wander round the stands and see what there is, isn't it? Even crafts you don't do can be interesting. I love looking at the fabrics, even though I don't sew or quilt.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hi everyone
Where did the weekend go? I intended to do a proper update but here it is Monday afternoon and I failed completely.
Anyway the important thing is that I have 6 names for the Christmas exchange - mrsmp, MaisieM, b-e-g, nmm, Coxy and me so it will definitely go ahead.:j
There is still plenty of time to pm me if you want to take part.
In other news Plum Street Samplers have just launched a FREE Sunday Mystery Sampler with 12 designs on the theme of the 12 days of Christmas. Lovely designs which work separately as well as together if you like their style (I do).

Darker nights from next week so that ought to mean more stitching time - in theory at least.flowerofscotland wrote: »Well as this morning was cold, wet and dark after another lovely sunny weekend, it seems like the right time to start collecting sign ups for this year's Christmas Exchange.
I'm so pleased that some of us want to do this again as I keep all my stitched Christmas cards, coasters and ornaments and bring them out as part of my decorations every year. Some of them must be 20 years old.......
Last year's worked really well so I am repeating the "instructions" unless anyone has any suggestions on how to improve things.
The Exchange is open to all members of the Cafe but in order to minimise the risk of anything going wrong, not to newbies
I will take sign ups until FRIDAY 30 OCTOBER
If you want to take part pm me with your MSE name, your postal address, whether you would prefer to stitch a card, ornament or coaster or no preference, whether you would prefer to receive a card, ornament or coaster or no preference; anything your partner needs to know e.g. not a religious theme, avoid the colour blue etc; if you've taken part previously who were your partners (unless you don't mind)
And just to make it clear - I don't pair people up because that requires an even number of participants; instead person A sends to person B who sends to person C and the last person on the list sends to person A
It does make it easier if most people have no preference
I will collate the information and send you the details of who you are stitching for by MONDAY 2nd NOVEMBER; please note that this means I will be sending your address to your partner and also that I will keep it until after the exchange has been completed successfully
Your exchange piece must be mailed BETWEEN SATURDAY 28th NOVEMBER AND FRIDAY 4th DECEMBER. It's a good idea to take a photo before you mail it
You must post a message in the Cafe as soon as you receive your package
You must take a photo of what you have received and either include it in a post or upload to our Flickr group
Please don't include anything else with your stitched piece except perhaps a gift tag or a small printed card if you are sending an ornament or coaster; I've added this because I've seen these sort of exchanges get difficult when some stitchers start to include other gifts (with the best of intentions) and it puts off others who aren't able to do this
Let me know asap if there are any problems which might mean a delay or even you dropping out
Have I missed anything? Any questions?

Hello everyone
It's really scary how the weeks are flying by now .
Thanks for the link for the12 days sampler fos - was tempted but a couple of years ago I did the Margaret Sherry 12 Days which makes an appearance every year and I am trying to reduce stash rather than add to it atm so I think I had better pass on this one.
Well, I have quite surprised myself and made a start on my Christmas Cushion :j:j:j. I will post a pic later in the week (not much to show yet admittedly). Have changed mind which one I'm doing but I will keep you in suspense for now. :rotfl:
Great to see that the Exchange is going ahead. Thanks fos for organising it and keeping us right.
