Thanks for the updates on the Exchange fos. My exchange stitch has started
Sorry I haven't managed to post an update pic of my Christmas Cushion but I haven't been spending a great deal of time online. However, my cushion is progressing and I will make an effort to post a pic this week. The light is not too good now.
Lovely updates as usual :T

I've been a very bad cafe member and haven't been in since my holiday in September! Still been beavering away knitting and stitching though.
I have a few photos which I will upload to our Flikr group later.
Been a busy time at work, then DH' s car was hit by a lorry on the motorway and written off. He was lucky to walk away to be honest. He has whiplash and a torn knee ligament but lucky to be alive! Ten year old Ford Fiesta served him very well.
I am now the proud owner of a Citroen C1 which is adorable and he now has my eight year old Corsa as he does more miles than me and a lot of gardening stuff goes in the boot.
Had a small knee operation yesterday so am off work for two weeks and then have a week's holiday so plan to finish my Christmas shopping and get it all wrapped up and cards written next week. We are off to the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate on the 27th November. We live in Kent so we are spending the night before in York and then two nights with family in Newcastle so a nice little mini break! I have been saving for this all year and have £195 birthday money too so planning a proper stash building day.
Going to a friend's for dinner tonight but planning a little stitching this afternoon. Have to update my 15 projects in 2015 later this week as no idea what I'm up to now.
I promise to look in again soon as love seeing what everyone is up to.Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -
Hi all,
Good to see you tricksie - what a time you have had! So glad that your DH wasn't too badly hurt - that must have been a scary experience. Hope the knee op goes well and have a lovely time at the show
Speaking of York, I have booked to go on a solo trip there again next July - sssshhhh don't tell DH as I haven't told him yet!! He was away this weekend in Amsterdam and didn't get home until late Monday, then a late finish at work yesterday and he wasn't in the best of moods lol! He will be fine with it obviously, but I will choose my moment!!
I have started my Christmas exchange piece (thanks for the PM fos) and have done a little bit more on the Sydney piece I've had as a UFO for ages. I'm very time poor right now as I do two part time jobs - I work Mon-Fri but usually only til 2pm. By the time I'm home and have sorted out the dog, our children are back from school/college and it's time to get the tea on
Not sure if I updated on the latest craft fayre I did with Mum. Footfall was about the same and I sold 3 tooth fairy pillows as there were more children there. I also sold one card, so total of £11 but I paid £8 for the pitchMy mum sold a tea cosy and some other bits, so took about £20 less pitch fees. We have two further fayres on 5th and 12th December, so hoping they will be busier given the time of year - fingers crossed.
Right, time to pick the dog up from the groomers and collect DH's shirts from the ironing shop. Will try to post some pics once I'm back.
Take care all

Hello everyone
Just thought I would pop in for a catch up.
Having a rubbish time atm. Found out last week that my Mum's twin sister died in Ireland and we were arranging to go over for funeral. Long story short - Mum had fall at airport and broke her hip and has been in hospital for a week up to now. Trouble is the hospital is around 30 miles each way from where we live. The journey is made worse by horrendous roadworks and motorway closure/diversions. We know that it is going to be a long job but it is so sad because she is 88 years of age, blind but so far been totally independent in her own home.
Regarding the card exchange - my piece is stitched but not assembled yet. I am so pleased that I was organised once. I tried to be as we were due to go on a mini cruise to Bruges towards the end of the month but obviously I have had to cancel this now.
I have put my Christmas cushion to one side for now and have decided to leave it for this Christmas and stitch another one so that I have two cushions - one for each sofa for 2016.
Lovely to see you popping in to the Cafe tricksie.
Take care everyone
