Hi everyone. I've not been around for ages what with work and family life and had to put my cross stitch on hold. To be honest I'm more of a lurker than a poster anyway, but I always liked to see all your hard work ☺
I have a question if someone wouldn't mind helping me out with please?
I'm about to finish my second large piece for a very long time and want to frame them. In the past I've had them framed professionally but really want to do it myself this time - only thing is, I haven't a clue where to start!
I've watched various videos on YouTube so have a rough idea, but I don't understand about not putting glass straight on etc. Also where do you buy your frames from?
Any help/advice gratefully received! St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”0 -
Hi lancslady welcome back, sorry I can't offer any framing advice as I usually get mine framed by someone else. I'm sure someone will be along with the advice you need soon.
What have you been working on?SPC~12 ot 124

Thanks ladies I will have a look at those.
I've finished "spring angel" the lavender and lace design and finishing the winter angel by l&l at the moment, I'm just finishing the wings.
I did the wedding design by l&l many years ago and just love them.
I'm also working on a large rose design which I've taken a break from to finish the winter angel so I can frame both angels
I've also just started a kit I did many years ago which I really liked called "the king above" but I can only do that in the day because of the dark fabric.
I've also just bought two kits from China and have bought another called "riding the wave" which may be familiar.
I will post pics of everything tomorrow.
Sorry for the ramble!St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”0 -

Hi everyone,
A quick update from me. Managed some stitching last night - DH is on camp so I caught up with corrie and towie (yes really) whilst stitching.
Think I'm currently stitching the Chrysler Buildingafter that there's Liberty's flame to do, the lion's faces and a single line of blue along the bottom. Hoping to get this done by the end of the week.

Beautiful sunny day here in Kent, although a little windy. Hope all are well and have a good day.

Never mind watching Towie, I was living it last night! Went to the greyhound racing and it was full of Essex-accented, orange coloured chavs dragging their screaming brats around and wearing ridiculously high heels. Horrible!
I have finished my Christmas decoration. The first cross stitch I've done in two years!!! I'll have to post a pic of it...if I remember how to. The beads were a nightmare and my eyesight isn't as good as it was the last time I did something beaded, but I'm pleased I've finally stitched something again.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Coxy - I love the new york picture. My daughter has a new york themed bedroom so might look into doing that one for her.
Ruth _honey - your post made me chuckle
Right some pictures for you all. Some of you who have been around a while might remember them.
Picture 1 - spring angel. Completed just needs framing.
Picture 2 - winter angel. Nearly finished, just need to finish the wings, so hoping to get it finished by next weekend then ready for framing.
Picture 3 - rose design. It's a huge picture and gonna take me a while to finish lol. It's a Chinese kit which I like because the charts are in colour which I find easier to follow.
Picture 4 - it's one of the heritage stitchcraft silhouette kits. I think it's called early start. Completed just needs framing.
Picture 5 - Jessie j. I stitched this for my daughter whose a big fan. Someone from here kindly sent me the chart.
Picture 6 - these are two kits I recently bought. The king above is a kit I stitched many years ago and really liked it so thought I'd do it again. I left that kit and a lot of my others when I got divorced.
The other kit in picture 6 is riding the wave. One that's always appealed but I've never gotten around to stitching it.
I've bought two more kits off eBay which I'm waiting for I will drag the pics off and post them.
Off to town in the morning to price up some frames and will have a go. I don't know whether I'm exited or scared to death lol.
Right here's the picsSt. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”0
