Hi,
Had a few days away at Whitby in N,Yorkshire, can't take the leopard so decided to take " I love stitching "that Louise let me have.
I really have got going on it,but I think I have made a mistake on the size of aida, read it wrong on size, pic to follow, not on my usual tablet so not sure if it will work so it might have to wait till week end.
Coxy
I know exactly how you feel,my daughter lives in Oz. And I have been lucky in that I have been to see her there(she's been there 15 years now) but it breaks my heart each time I have to leave her.but FaceTime on Apple is fantastic.it doesn't seem so far.
Thanks for info on variegated,I never used it but I have all my mums cottons and there is hundreds of them.she has dementia and can't sew any more,I will have to have a go!
Back home to day,it's been a real break weather has been fantastic,
Love the postcards, really cute, really different
Have a good week end everybody.0 -

Evening everyone
Update time, I'm a week behind schedule at the minute due to the problems with gas board and mum having to be at my house while the work was done...elvis had to go into hiding until she left
Anyway, I finished another page this morning so now only 2 remaining and they're not full pages so hoping I can make up some time as want him finished and framed by end of October.

Hi everyone,
Not done much stitching this week, been busy working on an exchange piece for the FB sampler world exchange.
So here is my Christmas decoration - we could do it any craft - so I choose pincraft. I am also sending them a wee stitch (I couldn't not, could I). It is a wee pin cushion. I am not very good at putting them together but I tried. It is stuffed with some of my wee orts from this year.
Here's the pictures
The pincushion close up at front
and the back
So hopefully my recipient likes it. I did think of making my decorations in cross stitch but as you can see with my attempt at putting the pin cushion together it might not of worked. I wonder what I will get in return.
Some lovely work being done in here. Nice to see Elvis face - you are getting there PM, never tried parking Ayeshalush (maybe I should try it on my BAP (well hidden away, full of confetti), FOS love the look of varigated threads but the time it take to do each one - only done it once with a bookmark but the effect was good
Been an up and down week, went down to my Mums grave, the stone has been put in place, hubby had someone say something nasty about him at college - he is older than alot in his class - keep encouraging him saying he is making something of his life, using his mind instead of sitting at home unemployed all day.
Oh well, will help him with his home work later - word and excel - my good points. Might try and do some stitching, feel I have not done any and I have missed it.
Take care all and kind wishes to all
sweetcarer
PS Mum of the baby stitch (for her older boy) came up to me and he was over the moon he has one the same as his baby brother:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -

In the end I just decided to allow it after all and just stipulate one photo per blog post and that credits were given. I wasn't going to win, so I thought I may as well just allow and regulate it, as far as I could.
Photos from my blog etc have now mushroomed on Pinterest, but I've come to accept it and even feel quite pleased that people like my work. I do understand your annoyance though!:(Elizabeth

sweetcarer, lovely work, hugs to you and support for your DH. people can be bitter and unkind sometimes. important thing is that he knows he is better than that and is doing something good and worthwhile with his life.
I went to the funeral of a really lovely person on friday, her grandson bravely read out a beautiful poem called Desiderata after explaining that his grandma had a copy on her wall and had when time called for it given each of her grandchildren their own copy and told them if they lived by the words they would not go far wrong in life. Dh read it again when i got home from the service sheet and said it was also the words to a song. ironically we are sitting in the garden yesterday afternoon and that song was played on the radio. the dj then commented that the lyrics became a very popular poster. the song "you are a child of the universe"
on sunday we went to a local cemetry Dh found out when his dad died that his dads mum (his grandma) is buried in the cemetry within walking distance of our house. it only came about as when we were discussing where to inter his dads ashes his mum said he could go there with his mum. DH wasnt really happy as he said if his dad had never once flet the need to talk abut her or go and pay his respects he didnt think the relationship was that good he would want there eternal resting places to be together. i rang up to find out where she was and discovered she is buried there, but the grave was subsequently bought by another family so it has another couple in as well and appears to have a different head stone on with only their names. ive never ever head of this happening and have told my kids when i pop off the mortal coil can i now request that the only person in with me is my DH whichever one of us goes first.
on stitchy news, i spent most of the weekend sorting out my DMC stash, ive wound it all off the dmc bow storage things onto proper little cards and now have 4 boxes all in numerical order (some colours i have 3 or 4 cards of as with buying it at the carboot ive picked up a few different peoples sets. Also did about an hour of red skirt stitching.SPC~12 ot 124

Good morning stitchers
pm Great progress on Elvis and I expect the last pages will be done quickly now you can see how wonderful it will be when finished
sweetcarer love your ornaments - how kind to add a stitched item Sorry to hear that your DH is not being treated well; hope he doesn't let it discourage him
nmm Looking good - will you ever pick up a skein of red thread again
I organised the Christmas exchange last year and would be happy to do it again unless someone else wants to do it. I love getting out my exchange pieces as part of my Christmas decorations Apologies for those who don't like the C word mentioned yet
mrsmp lovely story about the funeral And it's good to take the opportunity to tell your family what you want for the future so there is no doubt in their minds
Sometimes I enjoy sorting my stash almost as much as I enjoy stitching and being organised really helps with stitching in the future. On the subject of letting family know what to do I have made it clear that my stash and stitched projects have a value so nothing must be thrown out (and I will be watching to check what happens :rotfl:). I don't mind my stash going to charity shops as I know a stitcher would benefit but I hate the thought of it being thrown away.
We had a busy weekend with an 18th birthday celebration but I did manage to put the final stitches in the wedding sampler - photo to follow after I've pressed it
Hope everyone has a good week with some quality stitching time at some point0 -
