  • Another great birth sampler sweetcarer. You sound as though you are getting really organised. Your twisted band sampler would certainly get our vote ;)

Sorry sweetcarer, I started this post and got side tracked at lunch time.

Lovely work ladies. Titanic in particular looks lovely.

Sweetcarer, I love your birth sampler, it's so pretty.

    Your lady is beautiful JCS1.

Poppies are looking great nmm. Do you find all that red hard to work with?

And congratulations on your awards Elizabeth! They look well deserved.

Well, I have finally finished the irises I originally started about 13 years ago! They were put aside for a long time til the stitchy bug caught me again.

My phone doesn't seem to want to let me post the picture so hopefully the link works.

I was going to start my Scarlet Quince project once that was finished, but we're going away for a few days later and I've not got it properly kitted up yet, so will take something from my stash to keep me occupied in the evenings. I also need to look for a wedding sampler at some point as my nephew is getting married next year.

  • sweetcarer As always your birth sampler is lovely and I'm sure was much appreciated.

Sorry but had to smile at the vision of the furry banana bread - hope the recipient has a sense of humour

If you finish Twisted Band for next year's comp there won't be any competition for the first prize :D

jcs Beautiful finish - reminds me that I have one of these miniature designs that was a freebie in one of the magazines. May have to dig it out :D

nmm RF is ooking good - you may have more time for stitching as the nights start to draw in

bigbird Irises are lovely and well worth finishing
  • Not a lot of time for stitching at the weekend as we went to a wedding but I did start a new small chart using skein of Jodyri Designs hand dyed thread and a piece of hand dyed fabric which was in a Polstitches grab bag.

The border is Algerian Eye stitches and I'm pleased with the way that they show the variegation of the thread though I don't think it shows up very well in the photo

  • Lovely iris BigBird :T

Lovely little stitch fos. The varigated colours look lovely. Can I just ask - when stitching with varigated do you need to stitch //// then \\\ or do you stitch XXXX if that makes sense to get the effect.

Had a quick look through stash yesterday - which is now much reduced due to a stash buying ban this year and I must admit I didn't really see anything jumping out at me and shouting 'stitch me' :(. Have been debating about stitching a birthday card for DS's GF but was a bit unsure. I also found some of the 'Keep Calm' charts which are fairly modern and would probably be fairly straightfoward and would fit into the time frame. Decisions decisions .........:undecided.

Found a large piece of 11ct aida and was wondering what to use it for. I would need an 'all over' pattern I think - maybe use it for a cushion - sometime :rotfl:

Nothing stitching related tonight as I am out at SW - oh joy
