    Hi everyone,

    Some lovely pics.

Annie021063 - Great progress on NY. I love the historical dress sampler. Goodness knows how long it would take me lol! Hope you find it at a decent price soon.

sweetcarer - such sweet teddy bears for your friend. Looks lovely all framed up.

Maisie M - very cute cards.

*BigBird* - I can see why the hearts are driving you crazy, although it's a lovely design. Hope you get it finished in time eeek!

nmm - RF is looking beautiful and I echo mrs m-p's sentiments about the Tower of London. They will be selling those poppies after November for £25 each and I'd love to get one. Your sister's card is very sweet.

Drum roll please - I thought I'd finished Daisy Girl last night, completed the bottom left corner and did the very minimal back stitching required. Took it off the r&r clip frame and noticed some bits I had 'forgotten' so I've been having a little stitch this afternoon. Almost there, so I'll hopefully be able to post a TaDah picture tonight.

    What to stitch next lol?!

    Coxy

Daisy Girl is lovely. I especially love the way her hair looks so realistic and the colour of her dress is beautiful.
  • realised i hadnt shown you the cushion i stitched for a work friends wedding.

hope your DG1 gets the weather and the party they are hoping for mrs ceejay.

    hope all are well

What a wonderful selection of projects

I have stitched Dictionary of Cakes and have another in my stash but everytime I consider starting it I remember all that backstitch. They are time consuming pieces but the format of the individual designs helps as each time a square is finished it feels like a mini finish IYSWIM

FoS what a shame you couldnt carry on with the sampler im sure it would look gorgeous in the colourway you'd chosen. im very tempted as i got on ok with the navy adia on titanic but as yet i havent had anyone close to me name the day. DD3 is engaged but they are wanting to move from the flat to a house first so i think it will be a couple more years before i need to think about big hats and wedding samplers.

Just on before work, here is the wee quickie I done for one of the girls who got engaged.

    111E1739_zps08189a16.jpg

Now what to do next - I am nearly finished a band in the twisted band sampler but I am a month behind the learning sampler.

Oh the designer has released a companion piece for the twisted band - the twisted rainbow.

    https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/198689249/twisted-rainbow-sampler-by-norther?ref=shop_home_feat_1

Better get finished getting ready for work, the sooner its done the sooner I will be home for some stitching :)

    Kind wishes to all,

    sweetcarer ;)

PS well done on your completion Coxy and MrsMP.

    Beautiful engagement gift.

I saw the NN new Twisted Band Sampler on a vlog and immediately fell in love with it. And the recommended threads from a UK suppler I hadn't heard of before are simply stunning.

But based on my experience with the navy evenweave I can't imagine that I would be able to cope with 28 or 32 count black :( I have stitched on black and on navy in the past but my tired old eyes are protesting these days.

Mind you I haven't even started my version of the one you are doing yet - I have got as far as kitting it up (with DMC not silks) so I really should do that first
  • And finally (for now) - sorry about the flurry of emails but I was quite a long way behind - I have 2 framed pieces to show you.

This one is a Passione Ricamo piece I finished ages ago If I was stitching it now I would use evenweave not aida

The second piece is one of the first UFOs I finished after joining the Cafe. I remember receiving the chart pack years ago as part of a Christmas Exchange and starting to stitch it immediately but for some reason it was put down and became a UFO. It was probably something with a deadline that could precedence. I certainly didn't fall out of love with it. And then as you can see it was finished in 2012 but not framed until 2014:eek: It will be on display this December

    Hi everyone,

Fos - your two framed pieces are lovely, hope they take pride of place this Christmas. Such a shame you had to abandon the navy sampler. I'd be lost without my craft light with magnifier.

Sweetcarer - what a lovely piece for your friends. Where do you buy the circular frames please?

Mrs m-p - nice to see a pic of dictionary of homes - such a lot of bs! Nice other makes too.

I have started a new kit. It's another Janlynn kit by Nancy Cole featuring the same girl? Anyway I plan to do the three kits I have and then get them framed to display together. I've also got together the threads for the mini Michael Powell cottage to take away on holiday. We are going to Cyprus for two weeks and I'm not sure a beach/pool holiday is conducive to stitching but hey ho!

    Hi Everyone

Thank you for your kind comments.

On for a wee bit before dinner.

I have done my twisted band on white evenweave - using 32hpi. I will get the new one but won't do it as yet. Going to use the same colours as twisted band (all DMC).

I have never stitched on dark colours before so I don't know if I would be any good at it.

I bought a job lot years ago when one of my favourite stitching stores was closing down - got them for about 20p each but they are framecraft ones - here is some here

    http://www.crystalclearcrafts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=48&products_id=691

Maybe ebay will have some up some days -they used come with free gifts with magazine charts years back too.

Well I got a bargain off facebook - stash unload page - 18hpi white aida (block) 100x135cm for £15 and about 8 metallic reels (maderia) for £6. Think I will use the aida when I eventually start my real counties of Britain black work - need to check size - if it doesn't fit I can think of a few other things to use it for. I won't be doing it in black - using colours - blue for Scotland, green for Wales and red for England. Need to think what shades too.

    Keep well everyone
