Daisy girl is so pretty, everybody is working so hard.

Still plodding on with the background to my leopard,it can hurt your fingers trying to push six strands through small holes but not so much to do now,the branches are quite easy to do as they are just mixed colours.

Hope the weather holds out for weekend,DG1 has his birthday,he's so excited

Just on before work, here is the wee quickie I done for one of the girls who got engaged.

    111E1739_zps08189a16.jpg

Now what to do next - I am nearly finished a band in the twisted band sampler but I am a month behind the learning sampler.

Oh the designer has released a companion piece for the twisted band - the twisted rainbow.

Better get finished getting ready for work, the sooner its done the sooner I will be home for some stitching :)

    Kind wishes to all,

    sweetcarer ;)

PS well done on your completion Coxy and MrsMP.

Morning all, hope you're all well in stitching land :)

Annie, that historical dress piece is beautiful. I hope you can find it at a price that's good for you as I'd love to see it coming together.

Your teddy bear samplers look lovely, sweetcarer. Makes me think I should do something like that for my boys.

Was someone on here doing a sampler on some dark sparkly fabric? FOS? I seem to remember that from a little while back but not sure if I missed the finished piece.

A little update from me on Grandma's House. It's coming along, but OMG the hearts are a pain in the behind to stitch! It's the colour changes every couple of stitches that drive me mad. I've got a week and a half to finish it before I go up to visit my Mum, which should be do-able.

I also need to get the frame ordered so it's ready to make up once I've finished it. If its a 10" x 11" design, what size of frame should I go for? I wasn't going to go with a mount as the picture on the packet is of it framed without a mount and I like the way that looks. Would a half inch border be enough? Or go for an inch all round?

Grandma's House is looking great. I don't think it needs a mount. I didn't use a mount when I had the wedding heart sampler by this designer framed and I was pleased with the way it turned out.

You have a good memory - yes I started stitching a wedding sampler on navy sparkly evenweave and I've had to give up on it. Even with a magnifier I couldn't see it very well so progress was excruciatingly slow. I left making the decision until quite late so I am up against the clock for stitching the replacement piece.

if anyone with better eyes than me and a suitable occasion coming up would like to take it over let me know and it's yours

This is a version stitched by a reader which inspired me to use dark fabric

This is the only progress pic I took. I did stitch a bit more than this but not much

I was planning to use pink, green, white and silver metallic as per the original pattern. I would send pattern, fabric and threads but not the Q snaps frame :D

Lovely updates everyone, grandma's house is coming along great BigBird, I have a couple of updates of my own :) Firstly the latest RF one, the sea of red is coming on, it reminds me of the sea of poppies at the Tower of London, which looks beautiful. I have set a target for RF to be finished on Nov 2nd which was my Granda's Birthday or Nov 11th if I fail that. Second update is my sister's birthday card it contains a little stitch inspired by Sweetcarer.

These are fabulous and I keep thinking I should do some kind of remembrance piece. We did the Lights Out on Wednesday evening and it was very moving. I love the way the poppies look
