Love all the updates, especially the Grandma one.
I have found a bit of my stitching mojo but has been a week of backwards and forwards visits to the Dr's, after telling me for 18 months I have ME they have now decided they don't think it is and the likely hood is I have inflammatory arthritis! I wish they would make up their minds!
So trying to occupy my mind with some stitching, blazing hot sunshine and I am stitching Father Christmas! :rotfl:
Supposed to be making 2 thermal cook bags but the cat is asleep on my fabric so can't start them.......that's my excuse and I am sticking to it! Lol0 -
Am thinking about Starry starry night but too scared to get the chart out and look at it
I'm sure that if Chairman Mao had been a cross stitcher he would have said that the largest project starts with a single stitch
I love that picture and I'm sure you will enjoy stitching it once you get going0 -
Finished school now and gave set myself a challenge to finish 'new York' before I go back to school

Elizabeth- welcome to the forum, your embroidering sounds interesting I look forward to seeing some pics
Beg- that tree is just lovely, are you keeping it for yourself? Good luck with your current project...that beading sounds.....fun *cough*:D
I wish I could give up my mags, but I just know as soon as I did there would be something I simply had to stitch (JE ladies for example!)
Bigbird, that piece is very sweet, I bet your mum will love it:T I frame some of my own things, I don't use sticky board but I do try and get frames with mounts and I use double sided tape round the edges to hold the fabric to the mount. That way if the stickiness affects the fabric, it's only behind the mount (and I will never know!)
Fos- the Jane Austen piece is lovely, very traditional look to it. I love reading as well, but only really get time to read once I'm in bed. My Daughter takes after me, I'm forever finding books stashed in the bathroom- she sneaks there to read at night and when she hears someone coming she pretends she has 'just been to the toilet...... she must think I'm daft :rotfl:
Mos- must be great stitching Santa in July...hopefully it makes you think cold thoughts :rotfl:
Annie- good luck with new York :T
I have completed Circe, will take pics once I get a chance to wash and iron her. Need to spend tomorrow getting organised for DDs birthday on Sat, once that's passed I will start Fairyland Dreams which my mum bought me for Christmas.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. b_e_g your red tree looks wonderful. Such an eyecatching design.
I have picked up my cross stitch again after a little break. You might remember I was doing a piece for my Mum's birthday (which was back in May) I'm going up to visit her on 15th August, so need to get it finished by then so I can deliver it personally. I'd better get cracking! Here is a little update.

Thanks Big BirdLoving Grandma's House - bet your Mum will love it too.

I think you're right to knock the mags on the head. I'm still using some I bought more than a decade ago and, to be honest, I think they're much better than what's available nowadays. I like the older, more detailed designs.
Thanks for your comments too Elizabeth. Definitely having a break from the mags - don't think I will really miss them to be perfectly honest with you.
Surely you cannot be that far off being able to post some pics now.We are a nosey bunch here you know.

How are you feeling?
Its all pressed up and waiting for DH to get motivated now. I'm still having problems but feeling a lot better in myself though. Still on the flamin antibiotics (must be six weeks now - three different types).
Off to catch up a little bit more.

It combines 2 of my passions - reading and stitching so I am pleased with it.image by stitchyfeather, on Flickr
Absolutely fab fos. :Tbeg - Red Tree is amazing. I love the flow of it and even though it's not symmetrical in anyway, I love the order of it iyswim? I'm a virgo and love neat and tidiness!!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Finished my traditional sampler last night, so will take photos at the weekend for Flickr. Have a couple of pairs of baby boots to knit before starting my next cross stitch project. Am thinking about Starry starry night but too scared to get the chart out and look at it
Go on tricksie be brave and give it a go - I have debated about adding that to my wishlist but I think it will be a challenging one to do.

Hope you're feeling better soon mos and that they can get some treatment soon. My sil suffers from rhuematoid arthritis and she is in agony at times with it and struggles to get out of bed.
I know what you mean about stitching xmassy stuff - I debated about doing a couple of xmas cards before starting Mill Hill kit but I might once this gets done - might not get done until November with all the bloomin beads

Thanks Louise. Will be keeping the Red Tree for myself but haven't quite decided on where it is going to hangHoping to start revamp of bathroom and toilet in October - knocking out walls and blocking up doors so I might wait whilst all that's done and it may go on the landing or stairs.
Looking forward to seeing Circe and then your updates on Fairyland Dreams. Bet I'll still be struggling with my beads and you will have FD finished and framed
Sorry for all the posts but I think I have caught up with everyone now.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and make the most of the sunshine.
