    Hi there,

I haven't posted for a while - not much progress on Daisy Girl as RL has been getting in the way!

nmm - RF is looking wonderful. I love the birthday card too. Many thanks for the subscriptions info. I'm coming to the end of a CSC 5 for £5. Think I might go for WOCS for a change.

beg - Red Tree is looking fab. Take care of yourself xx

fos - love the grandchildren and Jane Austen pieces. The coaster is really cute too.

Mrs ceejay - the advent piece is lovely. Glad that your GS like the spiderman piece, especially as it tested your patience. Great idea to paint your own frame. The peacock looks great framed up.

sweetcarer - twisted band sampler looks amazing - such a lot of detail.

Louise - love the peacock, especially the way you have adapted it. The tooth fairy is fab too. I was tempted by the JE SAL on facebook but too much else I need to get done. Looks great already though.

pm2326 - Elvis is looking amazing.

Annie021063 - the owls are really great. How sweet of your Mum to make it into a cushion for you.

I will attach an update of Daisy Girl in the next post. I've also finished my crocheted ripple cushion. Not had time to visit Dunelm for any storage boxes, so my stash is still in bags waiting to be rehomed. DH (luckily) is not getting on my case about it :D

DH away this weekend so I might get my stitching out later once I've done a few bits of housework.

Hope you are all doing ok with the weather. Much cooler here in Kent today due to a mahoosive thunderstorm last night. Several plants took a hit though - my fuchsias and my peony suffered damage, but the grass is looking a lot greener - every cloud......

coxy, daisy girl is great and the cushion looks fab, I've decided to crochet a basket weave blanket double bed size :rotfl: I may change my mind before I start and do cushion sized squares so if I get bored I can make some covers instead. This is the blanket I'm thinking of doing http://www.hookedonneedles.com/2008/07/how-to-crochet-basket-weave-stitch.html

Coxy- loving Daisy girl, she is coming along really well and that cushion looks brill :)

I am officially annoyed. I promised myself I would complete Circe the Sorceress before starting Fairyland dreams (Xmas present from my mum) so zipped through the remainder of Circe in 4 days feeling pleased with my progress....... only to find that I have run out of the final thread with about 20 stitches remaining. It's not even a DMC, it's the expensive treasure braid stuff. Need to wait till Tues/Wed now to finish :(

As for Fairyland dreams, I opened up the chart and the chart is printed in flipping miniscule squares :eek:

Hope everyone can see this WIP,my little Arab lady, nowhere did it say there was petit points to be done if it had know I don't think I would have bought it.this is my first attempt, have done her hand and arms ,on to her face.to me it looks abit odd but will have to see when finished.
It certainly makes my eyes hurt, having to do it under a large magnifying glass and without my glasses on as I have varifocals and get close enough with them on!its so small,
Why do I pick the most complicated all the rest went so smoothly even if the evenweave is poor quality.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Sorry,I sound like a moaning Minnie!!!!

    Hi
    Louise
Your weekend sounds like mine! I wanted to have started the Christmas tree by now but made myself finish all the ones I had put aside to do Spider-Man and now the Arab girl is taking a lot longer to do.
    nmm
I started a crochet blanket this year, but I am only doing granny squares about 12 inches(can't do metric) but I am only doing it when I feel like it
As it can be abit tedious,I have never seen the stitch you're thinking of doing,it looks lovely!

    Hi all

Just been catching up on the thread.

Beautiful makes as always and such inspiration. Some many things that I think I would like to do but I am adament I am buying no more until I have finished some of the ones I want to do in my stash first.

Have had three weeks off so far and not a stitch stitched as I have been catching up on house hold chores etc and have been on a weeks holiday. However had promised myself I will make time this week for an afternoon or two of stitching.

    Hello everyone
I thought I would pop on and say Hi! Its been a long time since I last posted!

Its been a strange old start to 2014 for me. I've missed catching up with you all and I don't know when I last did any stitching :( I seem to have totally lost the stitching bug.

I bought Prima makes a couple of weeks back though and the free stitchy kit keeps staring at me .... its only small so I'm hopeful it will give me the proverbial kick to get the bug back.

I was tidying up yesterday and came across a Margaret Sherry Chart I bought, plus the threads - another project I had the best of intentions of doing but then lost all interest. I love Margaret Sherry's work and was sad to receive notification that she and Cathy have closed the MS stitchy website :(:(:(

    How is everyone anyway? xx
  • pm Elvis is looking stunning and good to hear that you are now able to carry on stitching him

ems 6 pages sounds like good progress but I suppose it depends on how many more you have to complete. Have you got something else you can stitch while your guests are staying or are you going cold turkey for 2 weeks?

nmm Loving RF Beautiful birthday card - love the delicate colours

Thanks for the link about the magazine subs - these offers are great value though I do sometimes wonder how long they can keep publishing if everyone is using them all of the time

Good luck with the crochet blanket - it looks very cosy and snuggly

augustmummy Congratulations on a birthday milestone. You have been busy! Good news about your your health

The Wise Guys designs are very cute - worth getting out your needles to make a start :D

coxy Daisy Girl is beautiful and you seem to be making great progress. Very colourful cushion - will really brighten things up wherever it is displayed. An aunt of mine used to crochet similar cushions all the time in the 70s and we had quite a few

Louise How frustrating to have to stop stitching Circe for just a few lengths of thread. Am looking forward to seeing the finished piece - I always loved that design

Can you enlarge the Fairyland Dreams chart on a photocopier e.g. from A4 to A3 size? I sometimes do this with charts that are printed very small or have a lot of detail

mrsceejay You're not having a lot of luck with your charts/kits at the moment. Petit point on hands/faces usually looks good when finished as it gives a delicate finish. I love this design

maisiem Hope you manage some stitching this week - it sounds as though you have earned it

FE great to see you popping in even if you haven't come with a needle and thread :D
Hope the Prima kit awakens your stitching bug.

Is MS stopping designing or just closing her own website?

Hope everyone has a good week

I think its just the website that's been closed. I hope she doesn't stop designing. I don't know why it was closed but I guess for the time and effort it must have taken, perhaps it wasn't viable. I also wonder whether they had a problem with copyright as you buy charts and I guess some might have tried to make copies and sell them on.
