I stitched a little coaster as a gift at the weekend using some 32 count linen which was bright white so I tea dyed it plus some overdyed threads from my stash. The pumpkin is taken from a Lizzie Kate chart I had and the lettering is inspired by her designs

I will include a Just Nan needleslide in the package - also with pumpkins on it as her favourite season is Autumn.0 -
Hubby spotted this in my new magazine and has suggested it would be a good project....I'll just add it to my massive list then shall I :rotfl:

Ruth glad you found us again, i hope you are well.
did a bit more of 'home made' over the weekend but really busy here as mil is in the hospital so lots of time taken up with hospital visits etc
hope all are as well as can be.
Thanks.I'm not too bad. Hope your mil is doing ok. Hospital visits are so draining, aren't they? Take care of yourself too.

LK designs are usually quite quick and easy to stitch so you Cat Lessons would be ideal to get you back into the XS groove.
I thought I recognised the title of The Fault in our Stars - it's been in the Kindle best seller lists for ages. I haven't read it though
Thank you. Glad to be back. The LK is part stitched already-can't remember how much I did as it's been about 18 months since I touched it.
That book has been made into a film, which I think is showing at the cinema now. That's probably why it's top of the kindle charts at the moment. Library waiting list for it is about 60 people long!!!That was a bit spooky, just reading this and it came on the radio :eek::eek:
So weird how things like that happen, isn't it? I tweeted Brenda Edwards a few months ago-she was playing Killer Queen in the show We Will Rock You at the time. I got a reply from her and a few minutes later, 'Don't Stop Me Now' comes on the music channel! It's one of the songs she sings in the show, too.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hi everyone
Lovely makes at the minute, I do read the thread everyday just dont post much.
I've ran out of one of the colours for elvis and its doing my head in waiting for it to be delivered as means I cant finish the page....I literally have about 100 crosses of this one colour to do and that will be 5 out of 9 pages done.
Have started another page using other colours while I wait but the photo update wont be happening for a bit
I'm enjoying stitching elvis but want to do something else for a bit of a break, but then I'm worried I wont finish it on time so not sure what to do....I may have to dig out the snowman from my stash box that I started on plastic canvas last year just for something to do different, he's only about 4 inches tall so wont distract me too much.0 -
Going into the second week of the summer hols here, been doing loads of family stuff but have managed to complete a peacock, tooth fairy holder for my DD and a new baby pic for a cousin. Current WIP is the Joan Elliot SAL, have completed the frame and the first face, will try and get some pics taken tomorrow if I can get round to washing and ironing things.
Peacock - I changed it slightly from the original (first pic) by adding metallic gold and electric blue
Tooth Fairy Pouch for DD (adapted from the free kit that came with one of this months magazines) she will be 7 this month and hasn't got any wobbly teeth yet, she is desperate for the fairies to visit her!

louise that looks beautiful, also love your other photos, the tooth puich frame is a brill idea much easier for the fairy to locate in the night. peacock looks gorgeous. love the sparkly adia youve used on the baby one and its so cute.
FoS your coaster is so cute, could tell straight away it was lizzie kate inspired

Finished this today, not sure the mount is the right colour but if I put another in,it won't match the other three I have done.the others are on flikre .what do you think girls?
Will try and finish the Arab girl this week before school hols start here and grandsons descend, nothing gets done otherwise.
Love the tooth fairy0 -
it looks beautiful and the white mount set off the colours of the stitching and picks out the paleness of the blossom, if you are hanging it with others i can see why you want the mounts the same. Perhaps if it was hung alone a mount complimenting one of the colours in the peacock would highlight it more but then you would risk the stitch work not standing out so well and becoming merged with the mount HTHSPC~12 ot 124

I have put it with the others and you are right the pale mount seems to show the stitches off better, glad really as I didn't want to buy another.
BH likes it,and he doesn't usually say anything really.0
